We lived in San Francisco 50 years ago and wanted to combine a nostalgic stay there with a leisurely cruise back to England via the Panama Canal and Atlantic crossing. Oddly we were unable to board in SF and had to fly to LA whilst we met passengers on board who had had to do the reverse! Cunard or Imagine Cruising to blame? Who knows. As regular Celebrity cruisers we were a little anxious ...

Cunard Has Really Gone Downhill Now That They’re Owned by Carnival

My friend had previously taken several transatlantic cruises with Cunard many years ago and was excited to try their Panama Canal cruise, so I decided to go with her. Cunard positions themselves as a premium cruising line and prices their cruises accordingly, with emphasis on dressing up for dinner, unfortunately the experience doesn’t justify the pricing. It was billed as a regular cruise ...

The itinerary seemed both exciting and romantic. Plus, there was no overseas travel involved for us (from Chicago). We were also looking to sail on the Queen Elizabeth. An unexpected bonus was successfully bidding on a Princess Grills cabin. Everything came together even better than we had hoped. We loved the QE and being in the Grills for 14 days was just amazing. The value is clearly there. The ...

We are two retirees who are in generally good health, but with a few mobility issues. Neither of us has had any respiratory illnesses in the last ten years. We wanted to take a transatlantic cruise to Europe, and were attracted to Cunard because almost exactly ten years ago we sailed on this very ship, The Cunard Queen Elizabeth, around the Greek islands, and had a fabulous time. In fact in 2012 ...

This cruise was from LA to New York. 18 days total, also last but one segment of QE World cruise. Embarking at LA. Some passengers informed embarkation would be delayed , others received no information. I got through documentation without delay, then told to "sit over there", where I sat for nearly 3 hours, (place was full of passengers "sitting and waiting") FOOD. Mostly good, but ...

We purchased the Cunard transfer from LAX airport to the embarkation site. We arrived at LAX at 8:30 AM and were not met by any Cunard personal. We called the 800# and finally were met at 9:00AM, after we got our luggage and were wondering around the airport. We were told the transfer bus would arrive at 10:00 AM. The bus did not arrive until 11:30 AM!!! And then made 4 more stops at the airport ...

A couple who we met on a transatlantic cruise on HAL in 2008 and bumped into again on another HAL cruise from Amsterdam to New York in 2010 emailed us about a sale of just a few days for a 15 or 18 day Panama Canal cruise on Cunard's Queen Elizabeth in March. I checked and the sale was for balcony staterooms. The prices were considerably less than an inside statement. Our price was around $122 ...

Some friends took a cruise on the Queen Elizabeth (QE) at Christmas last year and did nothing but complain. Also, I traveled on the QE2, several times before her retirement and quite liked her. So,I didn't expect much from the newest Queen. But, I got a good deal on the web a few weeks before the cruise and decided to book the Los Angeles to Ft Lauderdale leg of the QE's world cruise. For ...
