My wife and I went on our second Princess cruise,. The Crown is a little older ship but still pretty nice. I was surprised that the average age for this weekend cruise was much younger than the Caribbean cruise we were on before. Clearly the cheaper weekend cruise out of LA was more of a "booze cruise" than the week-long cruises we have attended in the past.
The food was adequate, however in ...
It started out all wrong with a 3 hour line for checkin. No water, seating or apologies. We were 1.5 hours late in sailing. I've never been on a cruise where the luggage arrived at your cabin before you did. The dining room menus were pretty routine. Portions were small. They even counted the pats of butter. Average of 6 pieces of fruit for a starter dish of seasonal fruit. Cabin was standard ...
Our trip was designed to be a pre-holiday get away. The sailing was OK but not special. I probably won't sail on this itinerary again even as short get away. Several public restrooms were out of order. The entertainment was stale. It seemed to be stuck in the 70's. Housekeeping staff was outstanding. Overall all the staff was friendly and helpful. As for the dinning, I didn't experience a single ...
We take a couple of these short cruises yearly to unplug and unwind. We did find that the customer service was not to the level we have come to expect from Princess.
Speakeasy Cigar Lounge; Usually there is a remote control for the television in the cigar lounge, on this trip there was not. As this is the only place one can smoke a cigar, it would be nice to actually be able to go in smoke ...
Enjoyed our little getaway. Crown Princess - 4 days including Santa Barbara and Ensenada. We took a little trolley tour in Santa Barbara but did not get off the ship in Ensenada.
We had no agenda, just a relaxing time away from home with no cooking, cleaning or worries.
The cabin we chose was a balcony with queen bed. I like that each cabin has a small fridge and it was always stocked ...
Our service was excellent. The food was very good. This was our first cruise. The Jazz band was very good as well as the other musical performers. We really did not participate in all the other activities available. We didn't go on any port excursions because we have already gone to Santa Barbara and we had no interest in going to Encinadas. If we were to go on another cruise , I guess my ...

My honey and I decided to take the Crown on a four night getaway. We had a great time and were very happy with our choice. Embarkation and disembarkation were fast and efficient.
We booked a balcony on the port side that was clean and comfortable. We couldn't have had a better steward. Unfortunately his name escapes me but we were in R520 on the Riviera deck. There weren't any amenities in our ...
A short Holiday cruise from our home port!! We did a Thanksgiving Cruise last year but it was only 4 days long, this one gave us an extra day and an overnight in Cabo. We parked in the cruise ship parking lot and pulled our suitcases up to the door - easy as one - two - three. Checked in within 20 minutes of getting there. We were on the ship at noon, it was great. Since we brought our luggage ...
Having flown in to LAX early in the morning, we were greeted by the Princess staff at the airport. We had about a 3 hour wait ahead of us so the staff suggested we go to the coffee shop in the iconic Theme building. It was nice to get a breakfast and have a break from the crowds (and construction). Once we boarded the bus we were whisked away to the port.
Embarkation went mostly smooth. As ...
