Great Itinerary from LA to Ft Lauderdale

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Coral Princess

We chose this Itinerary because of the ports of call and the full transit of the Panama Canal and also because of the cruise line and the ship. The Coral Princess is a great ship with more public space per passenger than most of the big or medium cruise ships, which makes you feel less crowded everywhere you go and is also a very nice designed ship with beautiful lounges, bars, restaurants, ...

Panama Canal is worth the trip

On our 9th cruise with Princess, we were very happy with our Panama Canal transit. While the cruise does take several days to get to the canal and stops in some very questionable ports along the way, it all ends up being worth it as the transit is a "bucket List" experience. The Coral Princess is an older ship, but the size is good for this crowd - older retirees with plenty of time on their ...

Previous cruise with Princess to Alaska had very nice service. This one reinforced my opinion of Princess professionalism. We are looking forward to our next cruise! For anyone who has never enjoyed the pleasure of CLUB CLASS, I fully recommend the experience. no waiting and professionalism of the wait staff. it is like watching a highly trained dance team. The buffet was also convenient for ...

The food on this cruise the coral princess was the worst we ever had on a cruise .food was overcooked and at times criminated.the variety was awful in fact terrible. breakfast was minimal and lacked fresh fruit,we were told fresh fruit was only for decrative purposes on cakes. The lunch time food was mushy and you didn't know what you where eating. The evening was the same. The ship itself was old ...

Breathtaking Magnificent Panama Canal transit, great service in the dining room by Alexsandra Vrapcevic, fun activities with cruise director Fernando, Lauren Meyer always extending herself Minisuite D314 was great, weather fantastic. Perfect mix of sea days and ports. Wish there were more stops in Mexico. Very smooth embarcation and disembarkation. Used luggage service direct to airport ...

I choose this cruise to see Central America and the Panama Canal. The ports were very good, but Huatulco Nicaragua, the Canal experience and Guatemala were the highlights for me. The tours in these locations were the best. The ship is small which made it easy to get around. The service was lacking in some areas. The dining room meals were skimpy and not very tasty. I didn't see any shows ...

Overall good ship but I would not choice it.

I had no issues with the staff, food, or anything of that nature. The ship does feel a little thinner than most ships since it is designed to go through the old Panama locks; this shows up in the forward dining area and the central atrium. The problem I have is with the internal chair layout and the public chairs. I like sitting and watching the sea and the design of the layout is just poor ...

Smooth seas for 19 days

Leaving for port on a Sunday made traffic light, until the port. With the Royal Princess there too, the loop was very congested. Once at terminal everything was smooth and we just went through and boarded quickly. Luggage arrived in about one hour. The Coral is in good shape and the carpets everywhere must have been replaced in the January rehab. We like the 715 pm dining, the 5pm, is way too ...

First time on Princess and absolutely the last. First thing was the water in our shower was almost unbearably hot and it took 7 days to get a plumber who turned it down a little but it was still not comfortable. Could never get him back to adjust it more. Final straw was we had purchased a DVD of the cruise including the canal transit. When we got home to watch it there was nothing on it about the ...

Nursing Home at Sea

This was my first cruise and I was really looking forward to enjoying the trip with my grandparents. Overall I had a good time with my family but I was pretty disappointed in the whole experience. The majority of the passengers were over 70 years old and combined with the subpar food quality and cheesy entertainment it felt like a glorified nursing home. Although the Coral Princess was supposed to ...
