We have always wanted to do this cruise. We were booked on the NCL Spirit out of Tampa and cancelled without any penalty about six months prior to the cruise date. We had booked a balcony and as the prices dropped we up-graded first to an extended balcony and then hit the jack pot and ended up with an AFT extended balcony on the Main deck (number 4), just above the Anytime part of the main ...
This is my second time sailing Carnival Spirit, the first time was my 10th sailing, so this ship is a little more special to me than the others.
Overall, this is my 14th cruise with Carnival Corp., so this won't be too long a review. I had always wanted to take a 9 day cruise, so I jumped at the chance to take this one when I saw it, and glad I did. Since I have been to all these ports before ...

Back once again from our latest adventure. We choose the Carnival Spirit sailing to the Mexican Riviera over Thanksgiving holiday! As usual everything was delightful. Since our last sailing in April of 2011, there has been a couple changes.
In the staterooms there is a placard with your room steward listed. Which is nice. You always know who to contact.
The menu in the main dining ...
The Spirit Moved Us Review
Pre-Cruise
Drove from the San Francisco Bay Area the day before sail. Stayed at the Doubletree Hotel in San Pedro on a Park & Cruise deal; overnight room, buffet breakfast for 2, cocktails, parking for the duration of the cruise and shuttle service to and from the port. Decent hotel, clean rooms, good buffet, 10 minutes from the port. More staff could be used at the ...
I met my wife about 10 years ago. She is from sunny southern California or So-Cal as the locals call it. I am from windswept, landlocked Oklahoma. She cruised frequently with her family growing up whereas I had never even been on a boat. For years I heard about how fun cruising is, how amazing the food tastes and how many adventures one has while in port. When we got married in 2010, we took a ...
We arrived the night before and stayed at a San Pedro hotel. Since all the parties in our group were VIP, we headed over to the San Pedro pier around 10am and thought we would board at the usual 11am (usual for Florida ports). Not only did we not board until 12:30, there wasn't a VIP lounge. Oh well, I'm on vaca and all is well.
I loved the ship, others have said over-done, I say Just Right!. The ...
We stayed at the Vagabond on a sleep and sail. It was a good experience, with donuts available in the morning. If you want a nice place choose elsewhere but it works for us. We even got a repeat customer discount.
We had 2 inside rooms on 5. We were a group of 5 adults, and 2 kids. One of the adults was a newbie. We had kid in Circle C and one in the older group of Camp Carnival. The ...
Just a couple of notes about our 3 night cruise on the Carnival Paradise Friday August 26th 2011 R/T from Long Beach CA to Ensenada.
There were 4 sisters/ nephews/ cousins on this cruise in 2 cabins. My sister and I had M8. Outside far forward portside. We had a side thruster just under our cabin and we really shook quite a bit in Ensenada and especially docking back in Long Beach.

We set out on a sea excursion on New Years Day, 2012 on the Carnival Spirit. We left out of San Pedro which was very nice.
This was the second time that we sailed with Carnival Spirit which was 3 months prior. Both were fantastic.
In 10/2011 the boarding process was crazy long and drawn out. However, in 1/2012 it was seamless. The boarding was so smooth and so much more relaxing.
