Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Seven Seas Grandeur

We have long wanted to transit the Panama Canal and the start of Regent's latest grand dame's career was the ideal opportunity. We left a wet and cold UK to find much the same in LA. We were on Splendour in July so the beauty of the ship was not a huge surprise. But Regent have managed to raise the bar again & not just with the beautiful Faberge egg on display. Disappointments - Acapulco hadn't ...

Poor customer relations by Oceania

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Oceania Vista

We choose this cruise largely because it was a new ship. Additionally the itinerary was interesting, starting on the west coast of the US, down west side of Mexico, through the Panama Canal and ending in Miami. Overall the cruise was good even though there were more sea days than we would have preferred. Overall it was a pleasant experience with a couple exceptions: first, I had contacted ...

Nice ship but port stops way to short

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Oceania Vista

This was our first cruise on Oceania and we picked this cruise for the itinerary and of course the Panama Canal. The boarding process was fast and easy. We spent a few nights in Redondo beach first and really enjoyed being on the marina. We stayed at the Shade hotel there and it was excellent. A taxi from LAX was around $30 and an Uber from the hotel to the cruise terminal was around $35 including ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

We lived in San Francisco 50 years ago and wanted to combine a nostalgic stay there with a leisurely cruise back to England via the Panama Canal and Atlantic crossing. Oddly we were unable to board in SF and had to fly to LA whilst we met passengers on board who had had to do the reverse! Cunard or Imagine Cruising to blame? Who knows. As regular Celebrity cruisers we were a little anxious ...

Relaxing and fun--except for embarkation and debarkation!

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Joy

This was a bucket list cruise to go through the Panama Canal and we were traveling with another couple. We are very casual cruisers so we don't expect gourmet top of the line food (truth--we eat at the buffet a lot) or white glove service and we were very satisfied with both the food (ate at Cagneys twice--excellent and Ocean Blue once--also excellent) and service were great. We ate a few times ...

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

We chose this cruise for a couple of reasons - ports of call including the Panama Canal and second the price was amazing. NCL service is absolutely TOP NOTCH in all aspects of delivery. Everyone was polite, helpful, kind and courteous. The Jewel is a great ship - just the right size - not too big/not too small. The refurbishment is NICE. Ports of call included Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, ...

Upgrade Bid to a Haven Suite

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Gem

We chose this cruise for the itinerary and the time of year. This was our first cruise in many years and our first on the NCL line. We originally booked a mini suite and put a bid on an upgrade about 30 days before the cruise. We won the bid and were excited to have been placed in the Deluxe Owner's Suite #15500. The service there was wonderful and we had a delightful time. The Butler, ...

FABULOUS Winter Cruise - some more attention to detail would be great!

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Sirena

I chose this cruise as the dates coincided with my Winter break from school (I am a teacher). I live in the Midwest, so the warm weather itinerary was appealing, and the Panama Canal was on my bucket list. I was cruising Solo, (my boys spent the time with their respective in-laws), and I was more than a bit nervous. Embarkation was quick and easy, with lots of helpful, smiling Oceania ...

Panama on a MEGA ship

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

We used NCL air/hotel arrangements and also transfers with great satisfaction. The Bliss is a very big ship, the biggest of NCL and also very recent, 2017. Very modern and luxurious it offers a lot of outdoor activities, as much for children as for adults. The big-production shows were Broadway's quality. The food in all the restaurants was very good, even at the buffet, with a lot of ...

They got the big things right, but it's the little things

Things that were done right: 1. Staff from the top to the bottom were great. Friendly, fun, and helpful 2. Embarkation was smooth as butter. Wouldn't change a thing! 3. Loved the modern (but not ultra-modern) decor. 4. Always felt safe on the ship 5. Stateroom (balcony) was just right. Not too small and the bathroom was excellent. 6. Leaving and returning to ship on ports days ...
