We won't cruise with Princess in the future

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Emerald Princess

We chose this cruise mainly because it was going through the Panama Canal which was fantastic, but unfortunately two of the original stops got cancelled, the stop in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua got cancelled just a short time after booking and Grand Cayman got cancelled as the swell was to bad for the tenders. Pros: All the staff were excellent The Medallion App seemed to work well The ...

Cunard Has Really Gone Downhill Now That They’re Owned by Carnival

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

My friend had previously taken several transatlantic cruises with Cunard many years ago and was excited to try their Panama Canal cruise, so I decided to go with her. Cunard positions themselves as a premium cruising line and prices their cruises accordingly, with emphasis on dressing up for dinner, unfortunately the experience doesn’t justify the pricing. It was billed as a regular cruise ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

We are two retirees who are in generally good health, but with a few mobility issues. Neither of us has had any respiratory illnesses in the last ten years. We wanted to take a transatlantic cruise to Europe, and were attracted to Cunard because almost exactly ten years ago we sailed on this very ship, The Cunard Queen Elizabeth, around the Greek islands, and had a fabulous time. In fact in 2012 ...

Norwegian Gem - Cons outweigh the Pros

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Gem

Overall the Gem is a nice ship but the poor quality of food and lack of interesting activities made for a rather ho hum three week cruise. My wife and I chose this cruise because the itinerary because the ship was scheduled to stop at many ports, most of which we had not yet visited. After boarding in L.A. and a quiet day at sea, our first stop was in Cabo and that was an exciting port - ...

What Has Happened to Oceania?

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Sirena

Let me begin by stating that this was our 10th cruise with Oceania. My comments are our opinion and based on personal experience on the December 21, 2019 Sunny Holidays Cruise on Oceania Sirena. Oceania is not what it used to be. We observed and experienced a large discrepancy in the food from previous sailings. Chilean Sea Bass, Caviar, Almond Croissants and high levels of meat were a given ...

I'm loyal to Royal and wanted to do a Panama Canal cruise. I have been on about 40 cruises with Royal and this was by far the worst cruise I've been on. 1) Embarkation was delayed due to an unknown issue and the communication was non existent. The disembarkation from the ship was fine but waiting for an hour for our luggage to arrive at the airport was frustration 2) The ship is old but in ...

Who checks the food? Who hires the talent? Why this port?

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

Traveled with Norweijan 4 times prior to this cruise. First 2 were amazing! Second 2 did not deliver. This was the 3rd strike. Except for Margaritaville, the food was awful. Cagney's was the worst. Length of time at some sit down restaurants was ridiculous. I had low expectations for the buffet, but they fell short anyway. Dried out proteins. Flavorless everything else. Ran out of foods the first ...

Norwegian - The RyanAir Of The Seas?

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

We recently returned from a cruise on board the Norwegian Bliss. We had been on Norwegian once before about 9 years ago, and were shocked at how downhill they have gone. We have cruised with many other cruise lines in the last several years and there are some things that Norwegian do to exploit their customers that differ from other cruise lines. I believe these are things somebody considering a ...

Panama Canal Daytime Transit was Overnight

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

I booked a cabin facing forwards at the front of the ship underneath the captain's bridge to give me the best possible view of the canal. The cabin was quite spacious with plenty of storage space, and perfectly adequate for my needs. Considering the number of passengers embarkation went quite smoothly. I used all the dining areas with the exception of the speciality ones. The self service ...
