Fun and Great Value - A wonderful week aboard the Pearl!

Review for a British Columbia Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

Norwegian Pearl - Cruise Critic Review - April, 2010 Four of us took a week-long repositioning cruise from Los Angeles to Vancouver BC. I have done the US West Coast repositioning cruise a couple of times, including trips on the Norwegian Sun and the Coral Princess. NCL cruises, and especially the repositioning trips, are often lower cost than similar length on other lines. However, this means ...

Just some background on us as a family: this was a family cruise, two of our daughters, our son in law and our other daughters partner plus us. We have cruised over 20 times. our daughter and son in law about 15 and our other daughter, is a virgin cruiser, so we have all levels of comparison. Those of us who are veterans have sailed most mass marketed lines and a few that are now in ship heaven or ...

We have always wanted to try a Promenade room, and being that this was a low budget cruise, they all are, but be finally tried it and stuck with it; Getting to the just of this trip. We booked a 7 night cruise to the Mexican Riviera but the Swine Flu halted that one. RCCL was actually better to us than the cruises before and after us. They allowed us to cancel without penalty, or take a ...

Review for a British Columbia Cruise on Carnival Splendor

I found a great deal on The Carnival Splendor and thought we would go for it.  We have cruised on RCCL, Oceania, Disney, NCL and Carnival before so I was aware of the different levels of service and quality.  Even though I thought I knew what we were in for I had another thing coming.Embarkation and debarkation went very quickly and smoothly.  The cabin was fine and the ship (although very pink) ...

Mariner of the Seas... Great Value for the Low Price

Embarkation:  It was fairly easy and the RC staff was friendly and very efficient.  We arrived at 12:00 PM and were on board by 12:45 PM.  Luggage arrived promptly to our cabin around 5:30 PM.Cabin:  Normally, we stay in a suite (our last RC cabin was the Royal Suite, complete with a baby grand piano!), but this time, we were doing a last minute, 'cheapie' cruise and grabbed an inside cabin with a ...

This will be a short review. Needless to say, we were bummed that we weren't going to Mexico and contemplated cancelling, but we just wanted to get on the ship so badly. Boy, are we glad that we did. The ship is a biggie... well, at least compared to the Paradise. Yeah, it was pink, but so what? I found the layout a little harder to grasp than the Paradise (only my 2nd cruise), but there were ...

Great family cruise

Overall very happy with my 2nd Carnival cruise.  This ship is really family oriented, so if you have young kids (mine is 2) you're in great shape.  They have both Camp Carnival and a Splash Park area for kids, as well as the regular pools, water slide and mini-golf.  Service was excellent by room staff, dining staff, etc.  Food was great as well, Lobster, Shrimp, Steak, Fish, etc.  Nice variety at ...

Left Sunday Morning  on what was supposed to be  a relaxing  7 day cruise.Well  hey we  took jackets and long pants  but  were unprepared for the wet snowflakes that graced our faces in Astoria! We got of the ship for about half an hour to go through  the  mini  swap meet  that  local crafters  had  provided for  us. Not  very good weather  for sure,  but still needed to get off the rocking ship  ...

We were supposed to go to the Mexican Riviera but headed north to three ports instead. Embarkation: was painless and efficient and we headed for the buffet on the lido deck and enjoyed a good selection of food that was prepared well and seemed fresh.Day one ,sea day was nice, explored the ship and played a little miniature golf on the sport deck, then toured the spa,,very nice, and got the feel of ...

Our first cruise. We booked 3 months ago and were really looking forward to the trip to Mexico! Imagine our surprise (and initial disappointment) when swine flu changed our itinerary to San Francisco, Seattle, and Victoria. We already had airfare paid for, childcare arranged, and my work was covered (also very difficult to do, and moreso to undo). So whether we were up for the cruise or not, we ...
