We have just returned home following a really lovely cruise on-board the Arvia and this is an attempt at providing an honest review of this beautiful ship, its facilities and staff. If you are considering booking a cruise holiday on the Arvia, I have no hesitation in recommending it to you. The Arvia is everything you would need for a truly memorable time. Yes it is a very big ship with a ...

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Ventura

This was our 4th P & O cruise but first on Ventura. Yes things have changed since Covid and yes the ship is one of their older ones in the fleet but we had a lovely time on our 14 night Canaries trip. We had a large balcony, room was clean and tidy and bed comfortable but appreciate the balcony itself could have done with a spruce up. Service of our rooms was great with ice bucket filled ...

We had a balcony cabin on Deck 10 aft and the cabin was great, but a lot smaller than a similar cabin on the Ventura which we sailed on last July. Food was good especially the Olive and 6th street diner.710 club was a very good jazz venue and we got in without booking. Shows were good and we didn't always book but had no trouble getting a seat. We also saw Gary Barlow which really made our ...

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Queen Victoria

Cunard enjoys a reputation as a luxury cruise provider and the Queen Victoria (QV) is elegantly furnished throughout. I would accept that constant use is going to have an impact on the fabric of the ship but in general it is well maintained. Dining at the Princess Grill is excellent with very attentive staff, a good menu choice and a relaxing atmosphere. Other areas of the ship also offered ...

We chose this cruise because the ports were interesting. Categena,Catania,Cagliari,Trieste,Dubrovnik,Gibraltar. This was better than the usual ports offered in the Med. Ship was excellent,a smaller ship, easy to find your way around, and plenty of nice places to relax on board. Sun decks have plenty of places to sit without it being crowded with sun bathers. We chose freedom dining, and the ...

After reading some of the negative reviews we were a little worried but our concerns were unfounded. I really dont know what people complain about. Having cruised over 20 times on various different cruise lines i think i am well placed to comment on both the ship and the service provided. I admit that P&O have cut back in some areas eg. Perhaps not quite so much selection on the menu in main ...

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Iona

I never thought I’d say this but huge cruise ships aren’t bad at all. Until now I’ve avoided them like the plague - at my age Aurora and Arcadia are more my style - but four winter weeks in the Canaries and the Med on board P&O Iona (as a solo passenger) has made me think again. Iona is certainly big. With up to 5200 passengers and 1800 crew (1800 being just about the total number of passengers ...

We wanted a winter getaway and took this 14 night Canaries one on Iona, booking it 11 months prior to sailing - as a result we got £275 on-board credit, but our in-laws booked the same balcony cabin on deck 12 (five doors from ours) in November and paid £200 less plus got £600 on-board credit. Embarkation was difficult, with huge queues taking over an hour to shuffle upstairs and get your ...

We booked a balcony cabin on this cruise 2 weeks before sailing. It appeared value for money. For various reasons, we just needed to get away; just wanted to relax, be looked after for a while; ports not important. We have only been on one previous cruise and that was pre-covid, pre-recession etc, so we expected this cruise to be a bit different. THE SHIP - we really liked it. Modern, ...
