One of my best cruises ever in 50 years of cruising. I chose the 14 night sailing from Southampton. Ship is a beauty and very well managed. Crew were friendly and helpful and food was plentiful and of a good quality. The ship was kept very clean by hard working staff. The lifts are amazing and hold 20+ people. It was Scottish half term holidays and there were many children on board and the ship was ...
This was my first cruise. Having read the reviews I had some concerns. However, the cruise exceeded my expectations.
Good points
We stayed in a balcony cabin that was large, very smart as you’d expect on such a new ship.
Plenty of eating choices from casual to formal. Virtual queue mostly worked and they had a system of pagers when it didn’t.
High quality entertainment.
Well ...
Arvia is a big ship. But we knew that as we’d done our homework before booking! There are numerous signs all over public areas to keep you heading in the right direction. We did get a bit lost or “ taking the long route” as we called it but looked on it as a way of finding what was on offer. As the ship has only been in service since December’22 everything is still all shiny and new. The atrium ...
I sailed with my family, two other families and another friend of mine on the 24th of July. We all had drink packages, which I absolutely recommend.
The only embarkation/ disembarkation port was Southhampton, which meant that most passengers were British, as expected. I noticed that a lot of the entertainment catered specifically to their taste, mainly the music. I've been on 4 other MSC ...
We bought this as a first attempt at a relaxing holiday that doesn't require us to deal with the chaos of flying to a sunny all inclusive. I have no cruise experience to balance my opinions so I thought I would simply lay them out as I found them.
1. Drinks packages are only needed if you want to drink cocktails 24/7. At £20 for a bottle of wine, I shouldn't have bothered with getting one. DO ...
First impressions- Decided to take plunge on board MSC Virtuosa. Did an MSC cruise many years ago and said never again so this was a test as we had just done Sky Princess which was lovely. Embarked fine. As you can imagine getting 6000 people on board takes time but surprisingly we were done in no time. First impression the boat is stunning. Cabin very nice. Boat very clean in fact spotless. ...
We are relatively new to cruising having sailed with Royal Caribbean on four previous 4 occasions. On our 5th cruise we chose to go with P&O on their new flag ship the Arvia. All cruises we have been on have departed from Southampton. I'm going to be honest and the decision was based on the itinerary but mainly the price. P&O being significantly cheaper than RC.
Is this a decision we will ...
Had been on Iona and was very impressed so we thought we would try Arvia which has that little bit extra. On boarding at Southampton was easier than usual. The lifts were busy so we had to walk from deck 6 upto deck 15. Cabin as expected and no issues here at all. Ship overall in excellent shape.
Dining - no issues with the food as plenty of choice as well as restaurants. What let's the dining ...
I have sailed Anthem many times. Beautiful ship with outstanding staff. Shows were good.
Drinks are expensive $13 plus 20% for 150 ml. Dining experience good but sometimes very busy. Good choice of venues to eat at. Embarking and disembarking smooth.
We were in stateroom and could not get the internet in the cabin which was a bit annoying. Ca in only attended to once a day but that is ...
We have cruised often with P&O but this was first time on Arvia and we booked four weeks back to back Spain/Portugal then Canaries to try it out.
Embarkation - excellent as always. Really slick operation in Southampton and a credit to P&O as always.
Hotel Info - good condition throughout. The odd blemish but maintenance worked 24/7 to keep everything shipshape.
Cabin - inside mid ships, ...
