We wanted to get some winter sun without flying....this fitted the bill.
The ship was broadly excellent, food was excellent, ship is very manageable, production shows were excellent with some very good guest acts.
As would be expected the Crew were very professional, but to the point of blandness. Very few of them showed any warmth or made anything personal.
While the ship (and Cunard) ...
1st P&O ship we’ve been on, absolutely fantastic, preferred eating at the Quays area as quieter and not too many crowds as in the buffet, breakfast at the Quays was I think the best on the ship, more hand gel than the buffet, MDR was lovely but not much choice for a fussy eater. Cabins right at the front were fine, no glass on the balcony so when sitting you can only see the sky, so if you are ...
we chose Iona because she's so new . we had done Ventura twice and Britannia twice so we were looking forward to Iona. We were not initially disappointed as she is so big and beautiful and just as expected.
We had large corner balcony. We knew we were under the Epicurean however didn't realise it was the Galley. The main banging and clattering was until 11.30pm ish however the second night / ...
My wife and I are fond of smaller ships but we chose Iona because its itinerary was perfect for us - ports we had not visited before and others, like Barcelona and Lisbon, we were happy to revisit. Iona is an impressive ship and it passed its first tests with flying colours, a force nine gale in the Channel and a choppy Bay of Biscay.
It is a very stable ship and even more so as we were located ...
We chose this cruise as we are Elite members and it fitted with my time off.
Everything pre cruise was fine until 14 days before hand our room became magically unavailable! 2 days later we were allocated another room a deck higher which was ok.
Lots of sketchy e mails sent by Celebrity regarding ports of calls and changing itinerys and health regulations which was confusing and actually not ...
It seems they have sorted out many of the problems associated with the seacations. Covid testing at the terminal was efficient and results arrived swiftly. We were on board, visited our cabin and were in the dining room for lunch by 12.30.
Food, service, housekeeping were all excellent. Sabatini’s and the Symphony restaurants were a pleasure to eat in. Alfredo’s was also very good. Crown ...
We sailed on this ship for a seacation in August 2021, everything worked well, so we thought lets go again.
Thats where we were mistaken as things didn't go anywhere near as well as they should have.
1. On the August cruise we had liked our Medallions so much we decided to order specla ones. Apparently these come from USA and have a 30 days battery life. Well after 2 days on board first one ...
Picked this cruise as it was from Southampton so no flying.
Great thing about this ship is the crew, all helpful and happy, great stateroom on deck 10,food very good in the MDR, not the usual choices in the buffet, which was disappointing ( perhaps because there were only approx 1300 guests onboard ), precautions taken re covid were very good ,but there was four cases, three of these were taken ...
There should never have been the amount of stress pre cruise that we (English) and especially the Americans were put through. The lack of communication from Celebrity was a common theme. We all jumped through hoops to get on this cruise.
Pre- embarkation we had to arrange for PCR tests within 3 days of leaving. The choice was use Eurofins, recommended and linked to Celebrity who then forward ...
Firstly, it was lovely to 'get away' and lovely to get away on what is (almost) a brand new ship. This was our first P&O cruise. We normally cruise with Royal Caribbean or NCL.
I'll start with what we considered the good points:
It's a great ship with plenty of shops and spaces to sit. Personally, we prefer the 'street layout' that Royal Caribbean tends to adopt but the layout is fine once ...
