Expensive and Disappointed

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

This was the second time on the Anthem this year. We were on the ship for the maiden voyage in April and couldn't fault anything. We had a great cruise just perfect. Our holiday in October was a bit different. Embarkation was quick, and the cabin was clean. I noticed that the ship looked scruffy and dirty in some areas. Windjammer restaurant, tables were dirty and food on floor. One day when ...

Just arrived back from 2 was on the P&O flagship liber the Britannia _ several issues 1. very poor slow service in main dining room 2 quality of food not what you expect t in main dining room - after 3 days we paid a premium to eat in other dining venues on board and the food there was great 3 . bar staff in all evening venues seem to be targeted on drinks sales and they all patrol the ...

After returning from our recent cruise on the eclipse (our first cruise with celebrity) my wife and I both admit we should have stayed with Cunard, we were fortunate to some cruisers we got a last minute cancellation so got the cruise at a good price. We decided because of the price we paid that we would have the premium drinks package, glad we did we both like a glass or two of wine, the prices ...

Avoid the Arcadia

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Arcadia

We have travelled with P&O before and indeed in 2012 enjoyed a cruise on Arcadia. How things have changed on the Arcadia. The first negative was the dining arrangements, after one night of a table for 6 in the stern, we asked to be moved because it was very difficult to hear anyone speak above the vibration noise. We were moved to another table and sat with four friendly people and in that ...

Soulless Ship

Yes, as a lot has been said before reading previous reviews. We as a party of 6, one being 95 and in a wheel chair thought why did we book this but we kept a fairly open mind having traveled on various different cruises over the years with RC. At Southampton, the check in was very easy and took less than 20minutes before we were all on the ship as we set everything up before hand. Got to our ...

Overrated; Poor

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

Won't sail her again. As ships go, they have substituted a lot of public deck area (views, comfort of strolling) for added features not too many people even used. The design is poor, as you can't even walk around the front of ship (unlike Indy) without feeling like you're in a wind tunnel! Robot bar thing is gimmicky and useless. Promenade space is cramped with considering the size of ship. ...

Great Ship, Not So Great Service

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

We are retired in our mid 60s and travel 3-4 time per year - cruising only every other year. This is our first cruise on RCL but have cruised a couple times on RCL's sister line Celebrity. We found the ship to be very nice, comfortable stateroom with a roomy balcony. The various bars and lounges were also nice but overly crowded when entertainment was playing. Service was poor at the bars and ...

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Arcadia

If you have been with P&O since the start of 1970 as I have, over 20 cruises, you will notice how things have changed. More and more things have be dropped. Menu's have been cut down as have wine lists. Food not up to old standards. Service not to bad. Year ago you would have people from television or films for entertainment, but not now. Shows still the same old thing. The sail away is ...

Just returned from a ten night cruise around the Canary Islands on the Explorer of the Seas....we could not wait to get home! We have sailed previous with Disney who were fabulous....RC don't even come close. First of all, embarking at Southampton was superb, no complaints or issues at all. From parking the car, to actually setting foot on the ship took less than 30 mins. It's from ...

Royal Caribbean first impression

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

We have been taking Cruise holidays over the last 10 years starting with Ocean Village and then Thomson's. This year we decided to take what we thought was a step up in class and chose The Anthem of the Seas with Royal Caribbean. To be perfectly frank we were disappointed. We enjoyed the holiday overall but really didn't feel that this ship ticked all the boxes. We spoke to several seasoned Royal ...
