Ventura, S/hampton - S/hampton, 2nd March - 5th. April 2023, 35nts.
This is officially the worst cruise I've ever been on. The embarkation process was complete chaos, and lasted most of the day. Despite P&O demanding that passengers self administer a Covid test & photograph results with date/time etc, this evidence was not requested or scrutinised at check-in.
There were numerous incidences ...
The cruise didn’t get off to the best of starts. Ventura had returned late from its re-fit in Hamburg which may explain why around 500 of us were kept outside in the cold for 90 minutes before being allowed inside the terminal to check in. I say ‘may’ because nobody at P&O thought to give a reason, let alone an apology. Or perhaps it was due to the fact that hundreds of new crew members also ...
We have cruised on many different lines as well as P&O. We noticed a distinct drop in both quality and service on this cruise compared to previous pre Covid P&O cruises. I appreciate they lost money over the Covid period and need to try to regain some of that back. But they are moving too drastically and it has adversely affected our enjoyment to the point whereby we will probably be looking ...
I wanted to be away at Christmas as I had lost my wife 2 years earlier during that time.
We had traveled with P & O and been loyal to their brand for over 20 Years.
The standard of Food and of entertainment was abysmal and I will never travel with them again. There were so many other things wrong and so many thing’s missing when compared to previous experiences.
It not acceptable to ...
Review of N233 P&O Ventura 1st Dec ’22 – 5th Jan ‘23
We paid around £14,000 for two of us in a deluxe balcony on deck 9 in D607. Was this value for money? Nowhere near!!!
Cabin
First impressions are so important. The cabin looked generally tired. Whilst not actually filthy, the cabin was dirty. Lots of areas had clearly not been cleaned for months. There was at least 3 months of dust on ...
Firstly, let me preface this by saying we are seasoned P&O cruisers. Our party consists of a multi-generational family with ages ranging from 27 to 83. Cruising has been our go to holiday of choice for several years now. We had booked this cruise over 3 years ago but thanks to the pandemic it had been cancelled and changed 3 times before we eventually got on board. Suffice to say, we were very ...
I don’t know where to start! I shall endeavor to keep this review as short as possible.
I suspect that P&O are desperately trying to recoup some of their losses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and hence I believe they have downgraded the whole cruising experience in order to save money. Key points as below, not in any particular order:
1. There is no afternoon tea in any of the main dining ...
We have sailed on ventura numerous times but have noticed a big drop in standards the lack of choice in the food both in the main and buffet areas. The food that was on offer was of a good standard portion sizes seem to be getting smaller. Also the ship is looking very tired tatty in places.
The main problem with this cruise was the change of port from Amsterdam to Cherbourg and le havre which ...
Great entertainment and amazing kid's clubs. Some staff are attentive – but the service level is inconsistent. Customers are turned away from often nearly empty speciality restaurants because they are fully booked. This is because they simply do not have the staff to operate these restaurants at full capacity. That said, if you do manage to get a table the food quality is very good. When turning ...
We were a group of 3.
We arrived in good time at Southampton to the usual queues. Once it was our turn, one of our party was told he needs the NHS app as proof of immunisation. As he had an old phone that did not load apps, we had to borrow a member of staff's phone. He got so far and was then told via the app he needed to be verified and to wait for an email. So he waited and waited for 5 ...
