A lovely liner but it took us nearly 7 days to find our way around. Some of the public rooms are badly placed and access is not easily found. The presentations and entertainment were excellent which helped pass the time away when crossing the Atlantic. An observation also was that the public toilets were not clearly marked and hard to find. A great experience to travel on this beautiful liner. ...
we crossed on the QM2 a few yrs ago, after doing a transatlantic to Europe on another line.
We did the same thing this year. Think of this ship as merely a way to avoid flying and cheaper than a business class ticket. Our balcony was well liked by us and our steward did a great job. The ship looked fine, public rooms in good shape, etc. it is just that the configuration of the decks are a ...
We choose QM2 and Queen's Grill as the way to come back to the USA from a trip to Britain. We choose Queen's Grill to sample the experience.
Over all it was a great cruise. The food was exceptional. However, the Queen's Grill dinning area was too crowded. The table side service cart was often pinched between two of the tables. The noise level, due to crowding was also higher than expected. ...
For our 40th anniversary, my wife and I decided to do something special, take a 7-day cruise on the Queen Mary II from Southampton, England to New York, May 11-17. I am writing to let you know why we will never do that again.
On the plus side, the room was very nice. Our steward was superb. The art gallery was excellent, and the entertainment was the best we have enjoyed on any of the ...
This was our 50th cruise -- the first on Cunard's QM2.
You must include this ship in your plans for a future cruise, it's spectacular.
We flew to London (Heathrow) from Toronto and were met by a driver to take us for the 1 hour drive to the port at Southampton. Aboard ship, we toured to acquaint ourselves with all of it's features. 5 days later, we still found things and features we hadn't ...
Fourteen days at sea and only 7 hours in New York – were we mad? Not at all, as we travelled on the wonderful Queen Mary 2. An amazing trip to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary earlier this year (we waited until the weather was better to travel), planned 2 years in advance and anticipated our adventure with great excitement.
We had been on this ship before, on a ‘taster’ two-night trip to ...
With a bit of trepidation, we boarded the QM2 in Southampton....concerned about the weather (forecast for storms), the location of our cabin in those storms (deck 12), the dress code (planned to rent a tux for DH) and the rumored snobby-ness of crew and passengers.
Our cabin (Club Balcony) was very clean, similar in size to most low end balcony cabin on Celebrity, but well laid out. The ...
I’ve taken out on inaugural trips the latest Norwegian ships since the Epic, so Bliss was the latest.
Having sailed Escape in 2015 I was familiar with the core layout and so concentrated on what is different for this ship.
The bad points first (then we will get to the good points).
No Moderno ☹️. My favourite restaurant in the fleet has been replaced by a Mexican which I didn’t fancy. ...
Inaugural cruise, crossing the Atlantic Ocean. The ship was beautiful however only 2300 people were on the ship and you could not get a seat in any of the bars to listen to the music. I was in the Haven and the room was extremely small, never been on anything that small . The room had a bathtub that was so small and curved you could not stand properly I have a problem climbing so I asked for a ...
The ship is beautiful, the spa is now located at the back of the ship and a new 2-story, large observatory lounge is forward with the 2nd floor the Garden Buffet. In the Observation lounge: cruisers were putting their feet and laying on tables and chairs. Finally, the FreeStyle Daily, directed people to stop putting their feet on those objects and to stop laying on tables: how some people have bad ...
