Having cruised with a number of cruise lines ( Royal Caribbean , P & O and Oceania ) we were interested to see how Cunard compared , the fact a refit had occurred recently would be even better . We were expecting higher standards than RC and P & O but in our opinion the food was not as good in the main dining room . Most courses read well on the menu but were disappointing when they arrived . The main buffet for breakfast and lunch was generally good however one day my chicken was still raw in the middle !! Overall the ship was nice although it did lack the Wow factor in many areas and some of the hallways were very bland . You can see it is built as a transatlantic ship rather than an out and out cruise ship . The entertainment was Ok and we had a song and dance show on the final night 'The Rhythm of the night " which was very good . Pride and Prejudice was excellent and also a gymnastic show . The night club was very good . Having taken this cruise Cunard would not be our choice for an upmarket cruise , very much on a par with P & O but from our experience the food on P & O was better . We will stick with Oceania for the more upmarket experience . Sailing twice on Victoria later in the year so we will see how that compares . Read Less
