Was on the Iceland Canada crossing. Very smooth but there lacked things to do for anyone under 50. Also had a worrying fire on board one evening over the tannoy telling us it had broken out in the incinerator room. Could smell smoke. Also had a person helicopter lifted off. All quite eventful! Boat was clean and tidy and staff very nice plus the food was great. The buffet was very good ...

Quite a long cruise -28 days. The cruise was enjoyable and the staff fantastic. The food in the Britannia restaurant was sublime. We mainly found the entertainment boring. Some of the good speakers had uninteresting subjects while others had a poor delivery. Eg a lecture on dining at the White House was 40 years out of date and not very interesting at that. My biggest disappointment was the ...

QM2: Food for thought

Our family were keen, to travel, once again, on The Queen Mary 2. It would be our fourth journey aboard, but it would the first we had done so, since 2011. This time around, we decided to take the Westbound crossing; without the Eastbound return. The embankment was as smooth as ever, and our room was ready for use as soon as we were onboard (suitcases seemed to have arrived in record time!). ...

We've crossed the Atlantic on the QM2 a bunch of times, but this time was memorable because of the rescue at sea of a yachtsman from a disabled craft. We watched from our balcony, and then learned from a Q & A session between the Captain and the rescued seaman. Very interesting. Otherwise, we keep coming back to the Queen Mary because of the beauty of the ship and our favorite experiences on ...

3rd time (since we first went in Oct 2014) doing this cruise which we combine with a visit to US friends. I was very excited as we weren't expecting to make the trip this year and I was keen to see the changes post refit. We had a balcony cabin on the port side (4171) Surprised how confused we were by it being "the other way round" to last time, initially we kept opening the bathroom for the ...

Just returned from above trip and a few observations on the Entertainment Cunard Insights Programme - thought that Robert Gates and Chase Untermeyer on the outward leg were excellent but unfortunately the other speakers were bland and uninteresting. on the return journey Lord and Lady Howard were both interesting and sincere. however, again the other speakers left something to be desired, I ...
