We chose a back to back cruise to celebrate our birthdays. The first 12 nights we were Club Balcony and the second 17 nights on Princess Grills. I will talk about dining later.
The Club Balcony we chose was on deck 7 with an extended very large curved balcony, the stateroom is similar to most other balcony cabins but at an increased cost due to the Club Dining. Most Club Balconies offered are ...
We chose this cruise as an opportunity to visit some places we’d never seen and get away from a grey British winter.
Cunard has a problem. They seem to be massively popular with the over 75s but leave the ‘younger pensioner’ wondering whether they really care. The entertainment is poor, comedians that have struggled to leave 1973 behind, lectures about the lives of singers my Nan adored (and ...
Took easiest and most comfortable way to meet Oceania Nautica in Cape Town. Excellent port calls. Better than flying. 5* Art Deco furnishings. 3* service. Staff does not smile and does not greet guests unless guest talks first. Service seemed to be a burden on crew. Our cabin steward was the exception. Smaller than Phone booth size showers drove many to use showers in the fitness center. Balcony ...
The cruise was chosen as a means of picking up the Oceania Nautica in Cape Town. This review does not try to compare the small premium Oceania ship with the four/ five star QE.
We have traveled with the Queen Victoria previously.
Comparing our previous Cunard experience there were noticeable differences. Menus have been seriously reduced. There was always something to our liking and it was ...
This cruise was a fun way to get to our holiday in South Africa as it went from Southampton to Cape Town. The cabin, public rooms, lectures and art gallery were all great.
We were travelling in Queens Grill and were presented with wonderful menus but the food that came from the kitchen (as opposed to being cooked at the table) arrived dry. We complained twice but nothing changed, I suspect ...
1st Cunard experience and sad to say we have B2B booked with them in Aug/Sept 2019, 1st time ever I'm only half hearted about an upcoming cruise !!!!!! I'm sure the locations will cover any Cunard shortcoming.
Let me start by saying that while nothing was really wrong it's just that there was nothing that stood out or made the cruise an unforgettable 5 (or even 4) star experience.
We cruise ...
Queen elizabeth no 801 23rd dec 2017 - 7th jan 2018.
I am a regular passenger with cunard but i had a real problem with my cabin on this cruise. I was in cabin 6182, an inside cabin. I was traveling as a single person so had to pay the supplement for that grade. I think this cabin is not even fit for one person, most certainly not two. There is no desk space the way the cabin is configured at ...
This was our first time on Queen Elizabeth having cruised with Cunard five times in the past three years. Our inside cabin on Deck 4 (Aft) was fine, as was the service from Edgar, our Room Steward. The entertainment programme was nowhere near as good as that previously experienced, particularly the Theatre shows. The first nights show was particularly poor-no headline act, and the Royal Cunard ...
Firstly I must say that we have enjoyed all previous cruises done at this time of year and have sailed on QE before, so had no hesitation in doing this again. Although relaxing, despite being a little colder than usual, our experience this time was not so good and here is why.
Cabin – 6175
On arrival had to clean the drawers on the right hand side of the bed as there was a sticky residue ...
Cabin was too warm on embarkation. Technician came in and made adjustments. Cooled off considerably, too much. Had difficulty adjusting it (I like it around 68-70) so kept it on the cold side rather than warm, never right though. Thermostat does not allow you to set temp at precise temperature - you can only turn knob to adjust it. Public areas were warm for me. Britannia restaurant on the ...
