1-10 of 28 Princess Ruby Princess Cruise Reviews for Family Cruises to Europe from Southampton
The Ruby Princess is a very young ship that is the largest in the Princess fleet. They kept many of the basic layout and design elements from all of their other ships, but also made some rather notable changes. The Piazza is much larger and capable of holding more traditional entertainment events; the down side is that it interferes with the programming of Crooners (their piano bar). The ...
First time with Princess and first time around the British isles. We would like to do both again. This was our eleventh cruise and, all round, probably the best. There were things to gripe about (the food was much of a muchness, the shows were pitiful and we avoided them, the cruise director was.......) but we do not go on holiday for shows compered by someone whose love of his own voice was quite ...
I am not writing a long review because the Ruby is not sailing this itinerary again. So I am not going to go over the ports.
1. Staff=Tremendous. Every staff member was upbeat and smiling. Nothing was too hard for them to do. They carried trays, got extra blankets, got seconds of food at dinner...and the list goes forever.
2. Ship=Great shape. Once you got the layout the ship was easy to ...
I will cover the title later. This review covers the Ruby Princess on back to back cruises that started in Southampton on 8/27/2014 and ended in Manhattan New York on 9/22/2014. Princess refers to the cruise as “British Isles” and “Iceland Grand Adventure” for the second half. This review covers all opinions, mostly good to excellent and some disappointments.
The Itinerary - Both cruises offered ...
British Isles on the Ruby Princess Aug 3 – 15, 2014
This was a bucket list destination for a significant birthday in 2013 that had to be postponed by one year, however with 2014 we were able to board on my birthday and sail the Ruby, both worth waiting for.
For those who do not want DETAIL, here are the Likes and Dislikes…..

We were picked up at Heathrow by Barry of Taranis Travel--bookings@taranistravelco.uk. He was very efficient and transported us to Southampton via Stonehenge, Salisbury, Avebury, Amesbury. His price was great and we could stay as long as we wished in each place. He also transported us to Bath another day. There is an audio guide to the Baths. Will take you around 2 hours and it could be more if ...
We just completed this cruise with our 14-yr old son. Overall we had a wonderful vacation. Here are the pros and cons:
Pros: Loved the cabin--we had an aft balcony stateroom and loved watching as we arrived at and left ports every day. Also loved that this was a very port-intensive cruise. A great way to see a lot of different cities/areas. Services on the ship were excellent; staff were ...
This was my 12th cruise, the majority of them with Princess. But this is my first review.
The ship:
There are two large identical dining rooms, one for set seating and one for anytime dining. We were anytime, and actually ended up eating in both. We showed up whenever we were hungry for dinner and were usually seated right away. We never waited more than ten minutes for a table. Having the ...
This was our first Princess Cruise, overall it would have been a mainly positive experience, but we were let down by Princesses greed who sell cabins to passengers that are not fit for purpose,
I have since found a previous review by a person in the same block, wish I had seen this before we cruised.
It was a shame because we loved our cabin steward and we loved the layout of the room, but sadly ...
About us: A multigenerational group consisting of five women (my senior mom, older sister and her college-aged daughter, my wife and seven-year-old daughter) and one vastly outnumbered 40-something man.
My immediate family arrived a day prior from Miami to help get acclimated. We stayed at the Sofitel in Heathrow T5. The others flew in from New York City/JFK the morning of the cruise. A note ...
