My wife and I love the Transatlantic cruises. After a half dozen ports at the beginning of the cruise, you have almost a week to sit back and relax. The biggest reason I chose this 16-day cruise from Southampton to Fort Lauderdale was the list of 6 intermediate ports of call -- I had never been to any of them! The ports were Cherbourg, Le Verdon, Bilbao, A Coruna, Lisbon, and Ponta Delgada. Ok the cruise itinerary and the entertainment were quite good especially Mercury Rising - AKA Steve Willis - what a great tribute artist - really made the whole cruise for me they did not need to bother with anything else! We have sailed on many Princess ships and the Emerald lived up to our expectations. However she does look a little tired in her decor and perhaps could do with a refit sometime soon.
