Could have been so much better.

We choose Princess as we had been told how good they were. The Ship & Crew were great, no complaints at all. The Food I found very limited and not as good as others I have been on. The entertainment on board was boarding amateurish at times. The so called party band they had were no better than a local 'pub' band, although I have seen & heard much better 'pub' bands. The 'Turns' they had on were ...

Entertainment was poor mainly quizzes. Room was dirty and not cleaned properly items from previous guests and dust every where sheets were not changed for the fortnight we were there. Staff on reception were rude and did not get back to you when they said they would. Over all I was highly disappointed as expected better food in horizon food court was like school dinners and left under ...

A great cruise ship that cannot cope.

We chose this cruise because it suited where we wanted to go at a time we wanted to go. The ship itself is a nicely laid out ship although a bit tired. It was being repainted during the course of the voyage. The cabins were of average cruise ship size and reasonably appointed with basic toiletries and towels. There was an electronic safe where you select the combination number. The bed was nice ...

Do not accept Cabin E102 on the Emerald Princess.

This has to be the most disappointing cruise I have ever been on. I am a 'Platinum Member' in the Captains Circle and opted for a guarantee cabin. I asked for an Oceanview cabin. I booked this cruise in April 2016. Several weeks before the cruise I was allocated Cabin # E102, which, when I looked it up, it seem to look very pleasant. Big mistake!! It did say that the cabin 'could accommodate' ...

This was our first cruise with Princess. We sailed on the Emerald Princess from Southampton on the 20th August with our Daughter son in law and two grandchildren aged 14 and 11. Embarkation was slow, as there were storms affecting the port and Princess were unable, for safety reasons, to use the covered walkway to board the ship and boarding had to take place from dockside up a ramp. We were ...

Our first cruise was with Princess some 18 years ago and we did 8 overseas cruises with them before we decided not to fly so much and take cruises from Southampton instead. We then did over 10 cruises with Cunard and then one with P & O on the Arcadia in September 2015. This cruise was with our children, daughter in law and four grandchildren. That is nine in total. We chose this cruise ...

Wanted to go to the North Cape. This was a trip from hell. Our luggage was delayed for 4 days and when the cruise started there were very few clothing items to buy. After two days of this we asked to be booked on a flight to go home at the next port and they said they could not do this. DON'T KNOW WHY. We could not go on shore excursions or even to the dining room due to lack of clothes. Got ...

Cabin (balcony A437) too small for 3 people and feel like being fleeced on board

Review for Emerald Princess to Europe - Western Mediterranean

Cabin A437. Far too small for two adults and one child; 3rd bed is lowered by steward each evening and is immediately over the main bed. It is unsettling for the sleepers who may as well be in a small bunk bed! Balcony was in need of painting and repair with rust and broken lock to next cabin. Could not get balcony door to lock. You can hear the next cabin's toilets flush and TV, etc. Drinks ...

First the few good points: Embarkation was very smooth and we were quickly on board without any fuss. Although we only had an interior stateroom it was spacious enough for our needs and what we expected. Some of the staff are fantastic, polite, always smiling and willing to help. The Movies Under the Stars is a nice feature but obtaining a sunbed is a nightmare which I will elaborate on ...

Promised much delivered little

Chose the cruise based on its destinations and also for its reputation of good food and comfortable beds which I have to say I wasn't impressed with. Cabins are noisy and aluminated with light from outside the cabin door which you can do little about. The beds are too soft and we both suffered bad backs and necks during our cruise. The entertainment provided on the stateroom television is ...
