We choose Princess as we had been told how good they were. The Ship & Crew were great, no complaints at all. The Food I found very limited and not as good as others I have been on. The entertainment on board was boarding amateurish at times. The so called party band they had were no better than a local 'pub' band, although I have seen & heard much better 'pub' bands. The 'Turns' they had on were ...
We chose this cruise because it suited where we wanted to go at a time we wanted to go. The ship itself is a nicely laid out ship although a bit tired. It was being repainted during the course of the voyage. The cabins were of average cruise ship size and reasonably appointed with basic toiletries and towels. There was an electronic safe where you select the combination number. The bed was nice ...
Because of the price and the itinerary and a last minute booking. Enjoyed the cruise overall but not happy with the RIP OFF charges for things like shore excursions and shuttle busses plus the drink prices are a total rip off. Over $6 for a can of Boddingtons and $2.30 for diat coke, prices include the 15% gratutity which they sy is added for MY convenience.
Overall we enjoyed our cruise, ...
Liked the Emerald last time. This time very mediocre entertainment, definitely need more outside acts . Too much emphasis on trivia and silly game shows. Cabin was excellent with good service. Horizon buffet very tasty as was food from the outside grill. Very stingy on giving out prizes even refusing to give anything on several occasions. Entertainment team too female orientated with only one ...
This has to be the most disappointing cruise I have ever been on. I am a 'Platinum Member' in the Captains Circle and opted for a guarantee cabin. I asked for an Oceanview cabin. I booked this cruise in April 2016. Several weeks before the cruise I was allocated Cabin # E102, which, when I looked it up, it seem to look very pleasant. Big mistake!! It did say that the cabin 'could accommodate' ...
Sadly the cabin crucified the experience. Wanted to experience Princess from Southampton and will probably revert to fly cruise to catch the more modern ships. Found the entertainment below par compared to the Regal. Service was very good about 95% of the time. The captains circle rep clearly found elderly female passengers difficult to deal with. He was so rude that I actually found myself ...
This was a family holiday on the Emerald Princess, which suited our required holiday dates. We thought the ship was in good order, clean and tidy - very similar to P&O's Ventura and Azura. Embarkation was first class, as was disembarkation. The staff were very good and professional throughout the ship. Some of the minus points were no tea/coffee making facilities in the stateroom and dining in ...
We decided to go on the Emerald Princess for our first cruise due to the wonderful destinations it stopped at - Barcelona, Rome, Pisa, Florence, Genoa, Corsica, Marseilles and Gibraltar. I wasn't disappointed - these destinations were FAB-U-LOUS.
Embarking onto the ship was dream - hardly any queuing time. Thank goodness they had porters to take our 5 huge suitcases to our rooms. The ship ...
Should you not read all this letter, you should read the last 4 paragraphs.
We chose this cruise on Emerald Princess because we wanted to try a Baltic cruise and the date fitted in with our visit to England from our home in Tenerife. It was our first cruise with the Princess line and unfortunately will almost certainly be our last.
We found that during the day while the ship was at sea the ...
We chose this 14 day cruise for its itinerary as we had only every visited Bruges before. Never started a cruise from Southampton due to the difficulties of getting down from the North driving with a stopover was our best option to ensure we got to the ship on time. This proved to be a good choice as it took 7 hours to get within 2 hours away the next morning due to traffic.
The check in at the ...
