We chose this cruise because we wanted to see many of the cities and areas the cruise visited in Norway and actually, despite being quite an expensive cruise, at the price we got it it was pretty close to what we would have to pay if we had trained/planed/driven and paid for food and accommodation to the same ports and areas on the ground.
Choosing a cruise because of travel goals rather than ...
Second time in seven years to the Norwegian Fjords and North Cape in the same ship - Crown Princess.
Check-in at Southampton was smooth and very quick, our feet hardly touched the floor of the QE Terminal and we got a really nice cheerful welcome from the ship's stewards before boarding - that makes a difference and opposite to the most miserable crew I encountered on Emerald Princess last ...
Loved the itinery- going right up to North Cape was very special; especially as most days the weather was good. First time on Princess; would rank her just below Celebrity but on a par with Royal Carribean. Only disappointment was some of the entertainment with the exception of the "Encore" show on the last night which was amazing. The visiting soprano had a stunning voice and the four princess ...
Firstly, this is lengthy, but I have tried to break it up and hope you get a good overview of the cruise from it.
My wife and I are in our early 50’s and although this was only our second Princess cruise it was the 12th overall. We enjoy the outdoors so this 14 night North Cape and Norwegian Fjords looked a good choice.
We originally booked an MB class mini suite but got a free upgrade ...
Visiting Norway has always been on my bucket list. I am so glad we went.
Ship overall: We have travelled with Princess (Ruby and Crown), Carnival (Spirit), MSC (Fantasia), Costa (Deliziosa), P&O (Pacific Dawn), Celebrity (Reflection), Royal Caribbean (Legend of the Seas). One thing we have learned is that, in the end, it's all much of a muchness. And much depends on your own attitude. Keep ...
We chose this cruise because of the visit to the North Cape. We always choose the location and then see which cruise company is going there. In this case it was Princess. I cannot fault the itinerary. We stopped at some beautiful ports and the scenery was stunning. We did our own thing as the cost of the ship's tours were very expensive. At the North Cape we arranged on the internet for a ...
We did a Baltic cruise three years ago aboard Emerald Princess so knew what to expect and Princess is our preferred cruise line.
With the kids now grown up we cruise as a couple and prefer our cruises to have plenty of entertainment choices and a lively night life. Princess once again did not disappoint and our table of 8 on second sitting in the Botticelli dining room was a laugh. We were ...
The ship needs a good re-fit , dated, in my opinion not enough staff on all departments.
Cabin was ok , The Horizan restaurant was never fully opened, walkways closed off leading to long walks to get food, which became bland after having to eat there every day, seating allways seemed full and forget waiter service dinning in the 2 free restaurants unless you want to eat after 19.45 hrs . No ...
We actually spent 4 days in London prior to the cruise. I arranged for Silver Fleet Car Service to pick us up at Heathrow and take us to the flat we rented on the East End. Ian was our driver and we had fun and informative conversations during our 1 hour drive to the flat. We used the London Pass and the public transportation with the Oyster Card. Highly, highly recommend "Eating London - East End ...
This was our fourth cruise, our second with Princess, and our second itinerary to the Baltics. We chose this particular cruise because we avoided the start of the main school holidays, the Southampton departure port is very good for us and we found the previous, similar itinerary (with RCI on Brilliance of the Seas) to be a good blend of beautiful, quirky ports and ‘old Europe’ cities. You could ...
