Decent ship spoiled by various issues, and in particular cleanliness.

Well that is us ashore and making our way home from Ventura. We had an amazing holiday, met great people, and stunning port calls. Value for money was excellent but where do you start with Ventura? She is clearly a Marmite ship with many loyal followers which is good, however and for us we was not impressed at all. Cleanliness is well well below acceptable standards never mind what you expect ...

Choosing Ventura for half term week was a gamble, she was full yet I was on board witjthere was still room to move, the terrace pool never overcrowded. The staff are what make Ventura so good. She is ageing gracefully has many loyal returning guests, I enjoyed my week immensely yet P& O have made a lot of cutbacks. Breakfast not as bountiful in the buffet but better in the ...

Surprisingly good for new to cruisers

We had always thought about going on a cruise but had been put off by the price and also by some of the issues that I think put others off - hidden charges such as tips, excursions and the like, the perceived "stuffiness" of the clientele and possible seasickness. When we had our son however and were looking for a holiday to enjoy after the COVID-19 lockdowns, we decided to book this cruise rather ...

We are fortunate to have been on quite a few cruises this year and feel that the Ventura is starting to show its age and we feel it is urgently in need of an upgrade. There are still a lot of positives about cruising on the Ventura. The meals in the mdr restaurants were on the whole very good but we do feel that there is less choice, saying that we always found something that we could order ...

P&O Ventura.....terrible! Never again!

I don’t know where to start! I shall endeavor to keep this review as short as possible. I suspect that P&O are desperately trying to recoup some of their losses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and hence I believe they have downgraded the whole cruising experience in order to save money. Key points as below, not in any particular order: 1. There is no afternoon tea in any of the main dining ...

All aboard the Covid cruise

Firstly, let me preface this by saying we are seasoned P&O cruisers. Our party consists of a multi-generational family with ages ranging from 27 to 83. Cruising has been our go to holiday of choice for several years now. We had booked this cruise over 3 years ago but thanks to the pandemic it had been cancelled and changed 3 times before we eventually got on board. Suffice to say, we were very ...

Very disappointing

We have sailed on ventura numerous times but have noticed a big drop in standards the lack of choice in the food both in the main and buffet areas. The food that was on offer was of a good standard portion sizes seem to be getting smaller. Also the ship is looking very tired tatty in places. The main problem with this cruise was the change of port from Amsterdam to Cherbourg and le havre which ...

Lack of standards at P and O

Our ninth cruise with P and O. There won't be a tenth. A cruise we would describe as unacceptable from prior to departure until disembarkation. Prior to departure we started to keep an eye on the website in order to book the speciality restaurants. They never became available to pre-book. On checking with P and O we were advised that we must have missed the opportunity and would need to book ...

First time cruisers. Mum Dad & daughter 11. Reading reviews here from experienced cruisers before we left gave us the wobbles but we needn't have worried. Embarkation seamless. We are aware you should not arrive too early but taxi dropped us off half hour before. Concerned that we had everything correct armed with copious paperwork. Needn't have worried because were met by warm friendly staff ...

Cruise marred by inconsistent service

Review for Ventura to Europe - All

Great entertainment and amazing kid's clubs. Some staff are attentive – but the service level is inconsistent. Customers are turned away from often nearly empty speciality restaurants because they are fully booked. This is because they simply do not have the staff to operate these restaurants at full capacity. That said, if you do manage to get a table the food quality is very good. When turning ...
