Beautiful ship, shambolic cruise
"It is blatantly obvious that most crew members, despite having been furloughed for a long time, had only arrived back in England a few days before and had only boarded the ship for the first time a couple of days before we sailed. The idea was to give P&O feedback as to the ship, the crew, the amenities, food, etc so they could iron out any problems before this...."Read More

NEVER AGAIN WORST CRUISE IN 24 YEARS - IF YOU ARE A SMOKER I WOULD SUGGEST THIS IS NOT FOR YOU

Chose this cruise as the dates were correct for me and cruise went from Southampton bear in mind this is my experience and views only but the following issues made it the worst cruise I have ever had 1. Single Balcony Cabin - was like a cupboard - too small and badly laid out cleaning of the cabin was not good especially the bathroom - shower not cleaned properly unable to change this ...

Review of Iona G306: Spain and Portugal 4th-18th March 2023 This was my first P and O cruise since the pandemic, though I flirted with other lines in 2021 and 2022, and I was nervous to say the least: about the travelling ( been all over the world on my own but the stress caused by the restrictions changed everything); and about Iona because I seemed to read a lot of negative reviews both on ...

Not been with P&O before, but was pleasantly surprised.

Picked this cruise because we got a great price deal. We have cruised with several other lines before, but never with P&O. Boarding the Iona at Southampton was very well organised with plenty of staff and took a little over 30 minutes from entering the hall to getting on the ship. All good here. First impressions of the ships Atrium area was, it was not as glamourous as some other ships we have ...

After reading some of the negative reviews we were a little worried but our concerns were unfounded. I really dont know what people complain about. Having cruised over 20 times on various different cruise lines i think i am well placed to comment on both the ship and the service provided. I admit that P&O have cut back in some areas eg. Perhaps not quite so much selection on the menu in main ...

Ignore the bad reviews

I was worried going on this cruise because of the bad reviews. My advice after cruising on her - ignore them. The ship is beautifully designed - very light everywhere. I was super organised before I left - booking what I could on the ‘app’ and made sure that the very first thing I did when I got on was to book everything else. MDR bookings for the whole cruise could be made by asking the ...

P&O gone downhill, FAST!

After having a great cruise on Aurora last summer, we thought we’d try the new Iona. I must admit, the big ships are not for us. Although very clean and “modern” there is just no character, and we found ourselves, and others, calling her “insipid” “soulless” and “lacking in character” but many will like it, mainly those who are new to cruising. We were upgraded to a balcony, which was nice, ...

We booked this cruise about 9 months ago, my partner has to take most of her holidays during school holidays due to her job, we want something for February half term, this was available so booked it, we booked a large inside cabin on a select fare as it was cheaper and also a good amount of OBC. About two months ago, we were given an extra £200 of OBC (like all others I believe) and then about ...

We have been cruising for years and have had 2 previous cruises with P&O which were very good. Not this time - P&O are turning into Butlins! Iona is a beautiful ship, our cabin on Deck 10 was well equipped, clean and modern and John the steward was lovely. We were happy with the itinerary and we even had decent weather for February. The ship was fully booked with many families and children on ...

After reading so many negative comments we had lowered our expectations massively. However, we should not have worried, we had a great time. What a lot of people seem to forget is that P&O have been through extremely tough times and have borrowed a load of money to stay afloat (literally) and somewhere between the pre Covid days and now, stuff has to change. I could care less about chocolates ...

Worst Cruise ever

We thought a nice cruise after the turmoil of Christmas would be relaxing. Right where to start. There was a very long delay at the port as the gangway wouldn’t connect to the ship. Not a very long wait but my friend on a coach was waiting on the bus for two hours. Easy check in and muster. Then it went wrong. A beautiful nearly new ship. The ‘virtual’ queues for everything are a ...
