We enjoyed our cruise on Britannia. The dining room food was decent but a little repetitive. The buffet however was dreadful, the worst I've had on a cruise ship. Beating MSC which I never thought would be possible. Everything tasted bland and ultra-processed. I mean you have Indian chefs, why are the curries not cooked fresh? I'm pretty sure they use tinned curries. Finding fruit and vegetables ...

We always said that we would not travel on the larger ships, but as the itinerary and ports of call fitted in with our needs we decided to take the plunge. The ship is in quite good condition and kept quite clean. However the food and entertainment were not as we had hoped.
From the start, whilst having lunch we were approached asking if we wanted to dine in any of the select dining ...
This was a surprise cruise for our Wedding Anniversary and wanted to celebrate in style on a 5 star Cruise ship and always wanted to enjoy the beautiful scenic views of the Norwegian Fjords. I chose The Britannia which is described as a 5 star Hotel as I wanted to enjoy the luxuries that you would expected of a 5 star Ship... including the food.
We were informed that there had been a previous ...
Selected this cruise because we wanted to visit the Norwegian fjords, and this suited out schedule. In reviewing this cruise, I am comparing with a previous experience - Celebrity Solstice one week from Barcelona to Tunisia, Italy and France.
Initially embarkation works quite well. We taxied from Southampton airport to terminal where our bags were whisked away from the taxi and delivered to ...
Traveling as part of a quite a large party [17]. First problems encountered with Cruise Personaliser having incorrect information - after a number of emails, problem was resolved, or so we thought. Some of the party had pre-booked excursions. When we arrived in our Cabins and checked the tickets for the excursions, the wrong tickets had been issued to the wrong people. After many hours of ...
Firstly, we did have a great time. The ship is enormous and, as a result of being all-balcony, suffers from having no deck on which to walk around the whole ship.
Our balcony cabin was on the small side with a bit of a dark colourway, but the bed was comfortable, the shower was excellent, the TV Films were good and our steward was fab.
We had Freedom Dining and used this every night rather ...
Second cruise with P&O, have always wanted to visit Scandinavia. Norway did not disappoint, it is a very beautiful country and the fjords are simply stunning.
Our excursions, although incredibly expensive for a family (over £600) we learnt so much and got to see parts of the towns that we wouldn't have found ourselves. The guides were knowledgeable and interesting and the groups were fairly ...
For us this was a return to P&O having first cruised with them about 4 years ago. A couple of friends had been on a previous Norway cruise on Britannia and had recommended it to us, so on the basis of this recommendation and our experience previously we booked the Norway Cruise.
Embarkation at Southampton was very quick and easy and we were on board within half an hour of arriving at the docks. ...
I have to say we chose Britannia having sailed on it in it's maiden year (2015). On that occasion I have to say everything was faultless. On this occasion we did the Norwegian Fjords, nothing wrong with the itinary but we were so disappointed with other aspects of the cruise. The staff weren't as friendly, they did their job but didn't want to converse. The food was ok but just wasn't as good as ...
