Always wanted to go to the Caribbean, having sailed with P&O to the med on the Ventura we were looking forward to this trip, so myself and family (1 14 year old son, partner and father went) We sailed from Southampton, the crossing to Port Delgarda (Portugal) was very rough, it took 4 sailing days to get there. I'm astonished that it appears that over half of Britannia's passengers appear to have endured an unpleasant experience. Either their standards are infinitely higher than mine (possible) or they are more sensitive to disappointment (equally possible). I've seen the decor complained about - others found it pleasing. P&O staff lost 2 luggage cases from PO coach to ship, found by us later that night by luck outside the wrong cabin door midship after normal concerns associated. Party of 4. × 2 couples alocated cabins 200yds apart, and 3 decks apart. Changed coach times the week before departure making expense of overnight hotel stay unessasary. Changed visit to Maderia to Teneriffe in last week ...

Hopes were high as Britannia is new and advertised as the flagship of the fleet. The outside decks have been really well designed and was impressed. The inside areas are neutral in colour so much so it appears very dark. The staff were always pleasant,friendly and helpful especially my cabin steward.the lifts were nightmare far too small for the amount of people on board. Heard many complaints ...
