Wanted to try different cruise line, but sadly disappointed. The food in main dining room was very good and the breakfast in Sindhu (for suite guests). The lady in the library was unhelpful and quite rude when I asked for help registering the internet. There was no dry cleaning service which was annoying as it was advertised, all other cruise lines I have used give dry cleaning facility, and ...
We chose this cruise because there were a number of ports we have not visited before.
i can say that we were not disappointed, The main highlights were sailing in and out of Venice, Split and Dubrovnik.
Service was excellent in all departments and we found the ship in good condition and looks well after her refit.
this was our first adult only cruise and it had its share of grumpy old ...
Fabulous cruise. Service and food was great. Great entertainment.
1. They need to sort out spaces for wheel chair people and mobile scooters, to sit in the theatre, as they blocked the emergency exit most nights on the right hand side. No one around to check these not blocked.
2. We booked the gondola ride, it said 15 mins walk to gondola station. That ok if able bodied. I have a bad hip ...
Enjoyed cruise just what myself and better half needed, have been on Arcadia before
One or two thing P&O need to get to grips with dress codes ,flip flops and jogging bottoms
Being allowed in main restaurants !!
The choice of food is getting very restrictive ?
Part of ship needs brightening up, ( most of the bars )
Boarding fine ,very organised
Disembarkation good
Chose ...
My wife and I were a little aprehensive after reading reports from some critic sites of the supposed 'Arcadia Cough', to the point of our considering a cancellation. There was no sign of it during the whole cruise which proves that you should not always believe what you read. I think too many people, on some sites, only do a review when they have something to dragcomplain about. I notice this ...
Good weather , good destinations , good food , good cabin good service , in fact all the ingredient's for a five star holiday . Arcadia is a good all-round ship for adults only , the Entertainment by the Headliners was first rate , better than the special visiting Stars . Service in the Meridian restaurant for dinner was excellent as was the food .
The cabin was surprisingly large and well ...
Arcadia was not for us. I am a wheelchair user and we had booked early in order to get an accessible room on Arcadia - A120 - a 'luxury' balcony. Embarkation and disembarkation went quickly and smoothly. Our room was small, not what we would call suitable for a wheelchair dependent person and it was in a poor state of repair. Some problems were; no lowered wardrobe rail, the safe was very low, ...
The embarkation went very quickly and smoothly. We waited in the buffet restaurant and had lunch while we waited for the announcement that the cabins were ready.
We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise. We were very pleased with both the food and service. Our waiters were very friendly and ready to cater to our every wish.
Our cabin steward was also very pleasant and helpful.
We are not British but ...
I would like to start with embarkation. Parking was very organised and we got into the terminal within 20 minutes of arriving. It was another 20 minutes before we got our boarding cards. This could be improved in two ways. Have a TV showing which colour cards should queue, and numbers over the desks, such as you get the post office. This is minor detail but I believe it would speed things ...
This was the first time we had been on an Adult only cruise and the difference has persuaded us that this is the way to go. It was only the second time we had sailed with P&O (the last one was on the Ventura in 2009) being regular Thomson cruisers in the past. We had 5 formal nights, 5 smart nights and 10 casual nights, and it was lovely not to feel overdressed, as most of the other passengers ...
