P&O service gone downhill.
"Within a day of departure people were falling ill but preventative measures such as no self-service in the buffet were not put in place till the last day of the cruise. It may well have been that particular ship, the Arcadia, but had that of been my first cruise with P&O I would be in no hurry to go back...."Read More

Tired

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Arcadia

The ship is looking very tired now and would benefit from a major refurbishment especially the air conditioning. All of the staff were very good and helpful. The menu was monotonous and we became bored of it very quickly in the buffet area on deck 9 and was probably aimed at targeting a more advanced in age person - Im sure that there is no need for a roast dinner for Lunch and Dinner 7 days ...

Currently on cruise number 25 or 26 but first on P&O. To start on positive the internet is the best we've experienced at sea and the food in main restaurants is excellent, amongst best we have had at sea (apart from the buffet which is amongst the poorest). The main problem with the ship, part from it being very very dated, is that the logistics, moving and organising people is just utterly ...

Suite Disappointment

It was a special occasion so we decided to upgrade to a suite for a cost of over £1200 for three nights . Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment, the room itself was very nice but the bathroom was not as advertised, it stated and still does that it has a whirlpool bath, I’m afraid this is not the case as it’s just a standard bath in a bathroom designed for a disabled person with a shower in a ...

An Enjoyable Cruise on a smaller ship.

Our first cruise on Arcadia, the smallest ship we have been on so far. First impressions - the Atrium is quite compact not the wide sweeping staircase one sees on the newer ships, that said fine by me. As it was a very short cruise we opted for an inside cabin Deck 8 forward. Three wardrobes !! including shelf space, cabin clean and tidy, no wear and tear at all. The bathroom seemed slightly ...

This a tired ship in need of a good refurb. The public areas are cramped. Having been on other Vista class ships this one is probably the worst in terms of internal layout. The food is really bad, the buffet being marginally better than the main dining room. The problem with the main dining room are the queues. Too much time is spent waiting although the British are stoic when it comes to ...

I love P&O cruises

I’ve been cruising with P&O for 17 years now and I can not fault them. Although Arcadia is a lovely ship for adults it does need a few refurbishments around the ship. Food was good however the waffle and pancakes in buffet at breakfast are left under a heated lamp and go hard and inedible. Entertainment was good and enjoyable. Drink venues opening hours could be different on port days. Bilbao ...

It’s a small ship and needs a TLC but we had a great time. Loved the Globe with the excellent band Pulse. Service very good through except for dining room where very slow. Visiting entertainers brilliant, including a unique impressionist/remixed, etc. ports of call were excellent and transfers were provided. Weather was not brilliant and had to dodge the rain but it didn’t spoil it. ...

We have cruised with p.o very many times and i have to say that we have always had a very enjoyable time, our last cruise was in 2019 we did have three cruises booked after covid but p.o but they were cancelled as we had never been away for a chrismas and new year cruise we transferred one of our outstanding booking to arcadia. Boarding was very quick and easy, after our loyalty lunch we went to ...

First Cruise with P & O and extremely disappointing. Definitely not good value for money. The ship is old and tired. We had a wonderful cabin steward, who was helpful and friendly. Our cabin was clean but in need of a whole refurbishment. The first night we dined in The Meridian, the service was awful, we waited 50 minutes for our starter, then 50 minutes for our main. The wine arrived with ...

This was mine and my husbands first cruise. We had chosen this as our Honeymoon so decided to do the Arcadia as child free and we wanted to see the Northern Lights. I knew this cruise would be older generation (I am 40 and one of youngest there) I had done my research and we booked a year in advance (one so we could save up and have balcony room for space and two so we had plenty of time ...
