We arrived at Southampton early and boarded the ship in record time. So we were able to go to the buffet on deck 15 for lunch. A fantastic selection of food way way better than on our previous cruise on MSC Divina. Small amounts of freshly prepared food were available and were continuously replaced as required. There were lots of staff ready to help carry food to tables and to clear tables and ...

I'd love to sit here and say I'm a seasoned traveler, but I won't. I'd love to say doing a transatlantic was old hat, but I can't. What I CAN say is what a remarkable ship Getaway is and how her services, food, entertainment and crew far exceeded all my expectations! This review is somewhat limited in its application because it is about a transatlantic crossing, which is not what the Getaway is designed to be doing. That said, the experience was most pleasurable. The crew is ...

This was a fantastic trip across the Atlantic. Only 1300 passengers and 1600 crew so we were very well looked after. Our balcony cabin was perfect although we did think the balcony was not as big as some we have had. Food was all excellent and the Tropicana Main dining room provided some music and dancing if you dined between 6 and 7pm. All shows were excellent quality especially The Illusionarium ...

Wonderful Maiden Transatlantic Voyage at a Lazy Pace

A friend and I flew to London to see the west end premiere of a Sondheim show and decided to return to America via ship. This brand new cruise liner was about to make it's maiden voyage, taking a leisurely 10 days to transit from Southampton to New York. The route took us south across the Atlantic to the Sargasso Sea roughly even with the Florida/Georgia border before cutting up and passing wast ...
