Before I sailed I looked everywhere for a recent review and could not find one so here is everything I wanted to know.
I (49F)have cruised before my daughter (24F) had not, we are from the UK so chose a UK cruise on an older ship, figuring if she liked that then cruising is for her. We sailed from Southampton on the 14th Sept, and ended in Southampton on 24th Sept 2023.
We visited ...
We chose this particular cruise and itinerary because we had points to use or lose. (Covid delayed previous plans). We used the NCL option of having them book our flights and our pre and post cruise hotel. We arrived two days prior and stayed two days post. We also booked transfers from airport to hotel, hotel to port, port to hotel, and hotel to airport, through NCL. Those arrangements were ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary because my mom really wanted to go to Orkney. She usually cruises on Oceania and paid quite a lot for a balcony club room hoping it would measure up to her previous experience. She was awfully disappointed by the room and the ship. It was old, smelled terrible and the balcony glass was filthy. No USB, few plugs and a cramped, dark closet with no lighting in ...
Even though we live in Scotland and the on,y stops in Great Britain were in Scotland, We were taking our grandson home to his parents couple days before this cruise so we thought why not . Even though there was five cruise ships in at same time u wouldn’t have known. Everything was seamless, security, getting on ship . Restaurants were open bars were open to welcome guests on . Our room was ...
On a full ship, we found the service excellent in every bar and eatery. All restaurants serving beautiful food & huge selection in restaurants & buffet, so could not fault anything
The entertainment was excellent with some of the best shows we had seen on any cruise ship So much to enjoy The only restaurant not rated by other travellers was the Chinese, so we avoided that as our favourite was ...
We have cruised several times, mostly on NCL. What I like about NCL is the freedom to eat when and where I like. I see a lot of reviews that mention nickel and diming. We like NCL because we only pay for what we want. No one will force you to buy something you do not want or need. Usually, NCL is fairly inexpensive compared to other cruise lines. It is funny when someone mentions certain features ...
I don’t even know where to begin. Food is bland. The dining room is SO LOUD. Buffet selection is limited. Cabins are old and outdated. The screen of my laptop is larger than the TV in our room. Service is so-so. The employees look they hate it as much as the passengers (who placed the customer service desk by the screeching singers?). I would be angry too if I had to spend months on this super-8 ...
We chose this 10 day cruise with 8 stops in the British Isles because there was only one day at sea and the ports looked amazing. We were looking forward to all 8 ports, but were only allowed to enjoy 5 of them. The weather wasn't that bad. NCL didn't tell us the number of tender ports until the day we boarded the ship. 5 of the 8 were tender ports. Why can't NCL dock like other cruise ships? Who ...
We are having an amazing time on our cruise! Spent 2 days in London prior to cruise at Guardsmen Hotel near Buckingham Palace and really enjoyed it. Left on National Express due to train strike and got to Southampton around 11am and onboard by 12pm! Very smooth embarkation by NCL. Each port has been lovely with excursions at each, loved Blarney Castle and Giants Causeway. Bring layers!! Some days ...
I love NCL and cruise several times a year. I was very disappointed on this sailing aboard The Dawn. I have 2 future cruises booked for NCL Dawn and will have to rethink these bookings. Embarking the ship was delayed because the computers went down. THIS is how the cruise began! There was a leak a few feet from our cabin door early in the cruise. Buckets were placed under the leaks to catch the ...
