Norwegian Fjords - Iona

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Iona

I wanted to go on a cruise again as it had been 10 years since the last time. I wanted again a scenic place to go to so it seemed logical to choose the Norwegian Fjords. After some search, I came across P&O and booked a 7-night cruise with my husband. We decided to book a sea view room and to book some of the excursions offered online. The day of the cruise finally arrived. The only ...

Wonderful Return to Cruising on Royal

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

First cruise since 2019 and we went in with realistic expectations. Long time Celebrity cruisers, we liked Royal’s price point for a first sailing out of Southampton. We chose a guaranteed inside cabin as we were unsure of how much we would use the balcony on a cold weather cruise. Embarkation was efficient as was the parking at ABP. We walked steps to the ship and were onboard by 1130 with ...

First time cruiser so I went in not knowing what to expect/low expectations but boy did it go high and beyond. I met amazing people both staff and fellow cruisers and frankly, I had the best holiday since a long while. We had a room with a balcony which I loved waking up to a different view every morning. On ship, I spent most of my time attending the free events such as shows, promotional events, ...

Back to cruising finally after pandemic, despite saying l would not travel with Fred again due to previous disasters, having acquired 2 newer ships we were tempted again, so we booked a short 7 day Norway trip, three weeks to go Fred rang and told us our cabin was a disaster zone and they'd have to move us, would we accept an upgrade to a Premium suite, well after a lot of thought (2 ...

Huge ship. Too many people and the facilities canot handle the numbers

Booked this trip to see Norway and all it has to offer. The ship is huge. All shows were booked out for amost the entire trip. Some restaurants were never available so could not experience them at all. Unfortunately the cruise company did not advise that 2 of the 4 stops in Norway would be closed due public holidays. So nothing to do when you disembark. This would have been nice to know ...

I booked this cruise 3 years ago in 2020; I was meant to sail last year, however I postponed due to the covid protocols. I chose Norway as relatively affordable and having wathed some box sets in lock down (having made the Transatlantic crossing, in 2019, on the QMary with Cunard - as a big treat). When I first got on the Iona I was slightly overwhelmed with the size of it and wondered if it ...

Overall fabulous

We chose this cruise for the destination and value. The travel agent tries to upsell of course so choose the cabin you like for yourself from the ships plan. I did speak to someone on board who had to pay the premium for a balcony cabin yet part of the ships structure came across the patio door, so she could not see anything. Really not sure where it was so check that out before buying a balcony ...

Just back from a wonderful week in the Norwegian Fjords on Iona had a great time. We stayed in 95** a conservatory suite which was a great room, nice to have that extra bit of space - lovely for sailing in and out of Olden. Watched all the shows in the theatre, especially loved the magician and the comedian Tucker. Favourite bars Crows nest and Emerald. Loved Sindhu, the Limelight with La Voix ...

A cruise for all walks of life, a beer in a sports bar up to champagne in a cocktail bar to smooth piano tunes. Not having to pay for things we would not need such as wifi and ridiculous drinks packages (we are light drinkers). We ordered all the drinks we fancied and spent £150 in a week. (We had £310 OBC so hit the shops to spend the balance or loose it). Great food and choice of style/quality ...

Nice itinerary poor service, un consistent food standards

The only 2 things good about this cruise: the cabin type conservatory mini suite and the itinerary. The food at all times was substandard: midnight buffet dry crackers with cheese, restaurant options for vegan snd vegetarian little and abhorrently cooked/presented. We were forced to eat outside the cruise. Parking in the terminal chaotic and no considerations for disabled. P&o ...
