Good value cruise
"We had the temerity to ask if there was a map available of one of the ports and we got sent on a runaround but decided enough was enough and in the end just got off the ship and jumped on a tram....again that was a good deal in advance even though it was for just one device that was fine, it was all we needed...."Read More

Exceptional service, great destinations

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

Chose this cruise to experience luxury cruising on a budget. This cruise gave us the ability to experience small ship luxury features while still being able to access large ship entertainment, facilties and interaction with thousands of other cruisers if we wished to. We stayed in a deluxe balcony (YC1) with a front facing cabin. The Virtuosa Yacht Club is an exclusive enclave of around 160 ...

Thoroughly disppointing

We picked this repositioning cruise to take advantage of a visit to Jordan, in particular Petra. The deal looked too inviting to resist, but how we wish we had. It all started to go downhill when we received an email from MSC at 3pm the day prior to boarding advising us that "with your safety and wellbeing in mind, we have taken the decision to slightly amend your cruise". This 'slight amendment' ...

A truly terrible experience. Avoid at all costs.

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

If this had been my first cruise I would never cruise again. Absolutely chaotic; badly organised and just plain terrible. We arrived at the berth at our allocated boarding time of 1pm. We finally got onboard just before sailing time, 4pm. None of us had eaten since breakfast and our 8 year old was, inevitably, hungry. We boarded to find all food and drink outlets closed for the first hour for ...

The adventure began on 22nd October with a 3 hour queue to embark, then horrendous sleepless night on deck 14, the first night, with the trolleys from the buffet overhead, kept us awake. Complained, and after some strong words from my wife, we were moved onto deck 12. No complaints with this room as it was exactly as shown on the website. Service at breakfast was abysmal, people would ...

Queues queues and more queues

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

Having done 18 cruises, I thought it would be nice to try MSC for the first time. Upon arriving by car at the dock, I have always been used to my luggage being taken from me at my car (RCI), this did not happen and we had to join a long queue to drop our bags off before entering the terminal. After dropping our bags, there were more long queues to get through security and then to check in. Have an ...

Butlins at sea - or is that an insult to Butlins?

5 day cruise around Northern Europe. I could write pages but will be brief, hopefully useful though. The ship is stunning, amenities, cabins and most of the staff just brilliant! However and it’s a BIG one, they let far too many people on this ship (6000) so be prepared for noise, crowds, not enough seats in the evening and queuing for everything! All the reviews across multiple review sites ...

6000 passengers with facilities for 3000

Will never go on this ship again - cue to get on (2 hours) cue to get a coffee in the buffet. No seats. Says there are 17 restaurants. Yes -but only 3 that you can use or pay more. Bars the same -always crowded with no seats and almost no waiter service. The evening shows were a joke -but not funny. 30 mins and that was the big show. 6000 passengers , theatre holds 650 at a time. 3 shows per ...

Casablanca Morocco

First time I have sailed on any MSC Cruise Ship and the trip to Casablanca was an ideal time to escape the miserable UK weather. MSC Virtuosa is a magnificent ship, the interior is stunning with bars, restaurants and shopping malls making you believe you were still on land and not actually at sea. The nightly 'light' entertainment involving the Dome area was superb and something which I have ...

Beautiful ship, but shame about the extra costs and bar service

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

We chose MSC as had friends sail on their ships before. We booked at a great price, as we were travelling as a family of 4, so tried to keep our costs down. The ship is stunning and customer service was extremely impressive, EXCEPT for the bars. Each bar seemed massively understaffed (one even ran out of glasses), and ignored you unless you were sitting right in front of them. We didn’t purchase a ...

Really a 3.5 star review

I booked this cruise almost 12 months in advance for myself and wife also a cabin for my daughter and her partner. I had a senior moment when booking and used my daughters ex partners surname on the booking. The christian name was correct and also the DOB. I called to change the surname when I realised some two weeks later. We are still talking some 11 months from sail date and got charged £50 ...
