Having never sailed with MSC before my aunt and I decided to try them based on our travel agents recommendation. How wrong they were. Embarkation was fine really, however arriving onto the ship with music blaring from one of the singers left you a bit dazed. we had been given a dining time of 9.30 which was a bit too late for us, so decided to ask if we could change it. we had to put a ...
THE SHIP - lovely, our balcony cabin was very nice and clean
cabin staff very helpful
ENTERTAINMENT - poor, short shows that you have to book and reserve a seat but when you turn up there was no control or monitoring of this and was a free for all so even if you reserved you were not guaranteed a seat - it was far too busy and not organised
poor outside entertainment - very repetitive ...
I chose a 7 night cruise to France and Spain for myself, husband and our 17 year old teenager departing Southampton as we live in London and could drive to the port in about 2 hours. We parked our car at the port and it was a short walk to the ship. Our luggage was collected from us in the car park and delivered to our staterooms later that evening. The cruise had a packed schedule of ...
I booked this cruise in haste after having to cancel a similar itinerary on a smaller ship. When I realised the size of Arvia, I tried to change to another P&O smaller ship, but it was too late.
I feared the worst, and, boy, was I right!
This ship is a disgrace - Embarkation, endless queues, but not as bad as I had feared, cabin OK, balcony at the front of the ship - But ...
We picked Arvia at the last minute to achieve a sunshine family holiday that would fit in with prearranged leave dates and keep two 16 year olds entertained. The fact that she departed from Southampton and saved us from getting flights was a plus. Given these goals the holiday was a success and everyone enjoyed themselves. With one inside and one outside window (no balcony) cabin we achieved value ...
We booked this cruise( despite our misgivings about the size of the ship) as we were joining family who'd already booked.
A week or so before we sailed I read some poor reviews and started to have even more misgivings! BUT having paid a lot of money for the cruise we decided we would adjust our mindset and remain positive and determined to have a good holiday. Fortunately the claims that the ...
Having cruised with MSC before and enjoyed it, we thought we knew what to expect. How wrong were we! Our first issue; after requesting late dining, our cruise card stated 5:45pm. We queued for 1hour to change it and ended up with 9:30pm. It's the first time ever we have known a ship to have 3 dinner sittings. The muster drill was chaotic. We were crammed outside the casino with staff shouting at ...
My wife and i recently returned from our long awaited cruise on the msc virtuosa.
We have had some wonderful cruises with many different cruise lines over the years, including on the msc lyrica out of venice and consider ourselves to be knowledgeable and experienced cruise passengers, so much so that we had two of our friends accompany us on this occasion at our recommendation.
Expectations ...
One of my best cruises ever in 50 years of cruising. I chose the 14 night sailing from Southampton. Ship is a beauty and very well managed. Crew were friendly and helpful and food was plentiful and of a good quality. The ship was kept very clean by hard working staff. The lifts are amazing and hold 20+ people. It was Scottish half term holidays and there were many children on board and the ship was ...
It was the first cruise the TUI travel agent found which went to Barcelona. It sounded great we paid for a balcony cabin each so very expensive. It was the opposite of luxurious. Far too many people on-board approximately 6500, 1400 of which were children. We chose 1July as it is before schools break up for summer holidays. Travel agent didn't warn us that in Scotland schools close much earlier. ...
