Queen Mary 2 was a total disappointment

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

Total disappointment in the main dinning room Britannia (1) We are a party of six, setting of tables was unreasonably tight between tables. One end of our table was against a wall, waiters had to squeeze themselves to serve, particularly to the guest at the end. (2) Menu was not appealing, its quality below average standard, most food on the menu remained unchanged throughout the voyage ...

Old and tired

Personally I have never been interested in going on a cruise but it was the choice of in laws and I ended up being dragged along. After initially booking Britannia we ended up taking advantage of a cheap upgrade offer to Queens Grill. It didn't start well at Embarkation when there was a scrum of people surrounding the doors into the hall in Southampton and no indication of where the priority ...

Missing a trick

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

Whilst this was a short cruise to Belgium I do wonder if Cunard are even bothered about missed opportunities with "new to the brand" cruisers. We are 'suite' cruisers 2-3 times a year and in our 40's, surely a demographic the company might be keen to impress for our future cruise dollars? As Queens Grill guests we were allowed to the front of the line but very little else to impress or ...

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Queen Victoria

Having cruised well over 15 times as a couple (and Cunard Carnival cruises) let's start by saying that the pursers office had a very negative attitude, both in person and on the phone. The cost of drinks is extortionate I.e. a bottle of wine £5-6 uk over £40 on the ship plus 15 percent. Cost to us well over £350. The food is adequate at best the fish clearly cooked in a toaster. The speciality ...

Great itinerary, not-great ship

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Azamara Pursuit

We chose this cruise for the amazing itinerary--circumnavigating Iceland (we're still reeling at the stunning beauty of the landscapes and seascapes we saw), touring both Ireland (Dublin and Waterford) and Northern Ireland (the Ards Peninsula outside of Belfast is beautiful), and cozying up to Fowey, Cornwall. The great advantage of a small ship like the Azamara, Pursuit is that it can enter what ...

Very noisy cabin- sleepless nights

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Azamara Pursuit

We chose this cruise for two reasons, the itinerary and to try this new ship bought by Azamara. We have traveled on Journey and Quest multiple times and loved them all. In fact, before boarding this cruise, we had the week before cruised on Journey doing the Norwegian Fjords. That cruise was exceptional. The Pursuit was a huge disappointment. Our main complaint was a constant tapping noise ...

Pig's Ear - Silk Purse?

The shame of P&O's fleet, the Adonia, returns from dry dock transformed into the luxury, five star, country house hotel experience aka The Pursuit. What are the chances of that happening? What a load of old blether. The cabin was hideously dusty, the 'bathroom' cramped and badly designed, and the first time since the Heysham ferry I've hated the way a ship performed in slight 'weather'. This ...

They Advertised Service But Where Was It?

This is the first time we (a group of 20 seniors) cruised on one of the "Queen" ships and after hearing our friend's positive ratings on the Queen Mary, we were really looking forward to some good times on the QE. The embarkation process was swift and efficient. The staff was friendly and informative. So a good start to the cruise. When we reached our cabin, the room steward dropped by ...

Cunard is not the line it was

Two cruises back to back were chosen for the itinerary and no other line seemed to cover the majority of our bucket list in the Baltic and Norway Fjords. The cruise did meet our itinerary expectations and the weather was on the whole very conducive to touring each area. The ship was as we expected and sadly no better than we expected. Cunard has a strong positive and that is the staff on board ...

NOT FOR NEW PASSENGERS - ONLY FOR THE CLIQUE

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Azamara Pursuit

This was my 29th cruise (12 different cruise companies). I was really disappointed. The officers are very arrogant and aloof and only acknowledge repeat passengers. Many people have done 10+ Azamara cruises. The cabin staff, bar staff and waiters are all very friendly and service and food was good. My husband complained about a few things but they didn't take any notice because we ...
