Can’t knock the ship or the value.

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Arvia

Enjoyable and great value for money. We’d cancelled a 5 star East Med cruise due to insurance and security problems. Replaced with this and another Britannia cruise in August for the same cost. Of course some aspects aren’t Holland America standard but in short, the ship isn’t crowded, it’s modern and easy to navigate (the app, table booking etc work just fine) the MDR food is okay but you’ll need ...

We sailed to the Mediterranean on Arvia , it's a huge boat 5000+ passengers. Plus points , lots of stuff to do, massive theatre, choice of 4 free cinemas, 4 inclusive eateries. Climbing frames, mini golf. Many bars and seating areas. Love the onboard booking app, and the outer toilet doors opened by a wave of the hand! And no cameramen constantly taking photos, if you want your picture taken it ...

Our Arvia's Mediterranean experience

After being initially concerned about the size of Arvia and previous reviews about the number of passengers, we really enjoyed the cruise. Our dining experiences in Epicurean and Green and Co were excellent and we thought the quality of the food was good overall. We enjoyed seeing Matt Terry in the Limelight Club and chilling out in the Crow's Nest in the evening. We had a balcony cabin which ...

A great cruise!

Great ship - we were on a full cruise and thought it carried its passengers really well. Never struggled to find a quiet corner or finding a sunbed when needed. We found the food to be consistently good (steak in the easy diner was great) and enjoyed trying some of the speciality dining options - Green & Co was a highlight (sushi and vegan) and the afternoon tea in the epicurean. Our cabin (a ...

WOULD WE GO BACK ON ARVIA...NO

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Arvia

The ship is far to big and was packed solid. We had to wait ages for the lifts and they were nearly always full. People coughing all the time and not putting hands to face, just coughing all over us. The Cocktail menu is poor. Ok if you like Gin, which we don't. Glad we didn't get drinks package as would not have been worth it. Buffett at breakfast and lunch was average. Epicurian was good for ...

NHS AURORA - HOSPITAL SHIP

This was our 9th cruise with P&O. After our cruise on Arvia, we decided to try an adult only ship. As Aurora had been highly recommended, we opted for an 18 night Mediterranean cruise from Southampton. The ports of call were great, Tangier being a complete and delightful surprise. We thought she was a beautiful ship, with very smart decor, great public areas, fantastic crew, and a huge amount ...

A very disappointing cruise

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Balmoral

For our first cruise post covid we chose to return to our favourite ship, Balmoral, to celebrate our joint 80th birthdays. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement! The cabin was tired and the bathroom was really dated with a chipped sink and ancient shower controls. We found the air conditioning in the Ballindalloch to be so fiercely cold that we had to wear our going ashore clothes ...

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Arcadia

The cruise was chosen as my partner had been on the ship several times before. The fist statement I will make is the captain whilst he made the right decisions on the seaman ship of the boat a captain of a cruise linner should be more than that. Tne cruise was a 19 Day cruise in the Med. 1st 2 & 3rd day was spent in Southampton due to the weather Correct decision. But 2 ports were cancelled ...

OUR MOST EVENTFUL CRUISE - EVER!

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Arcadia

My wife and I have been on 25 Cunard cruises and just three on other lines, one on the P&O Iona with the family, so were interested to compare Arcadia with Queen Victoria and Elizabeth. In summary, the ships and their feel are similar, the major differences being the upper decks being accessible on Arcadia but limited to "Grills" class guests on Cunard, so this gives more venues and open deck ...

We have been cruising now for many years and in that time have encountered many events at sea. When choosing a cruise in November from Southampton it is likely we will experience some inclement weather ( it is Autumn/Winter after all ). Storm Ciaran was one such event that kept us in port ( and safe ) for 2 extra days thus impacting the remainder of the trip and missing 3 ports. However, as a ...
