Big let down from previous cruise

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

This is our second Celebrity cruise, our previous being the Greek Isles on the Constellation four years ago, which inspired us to go again. Unfortunately it was a big let down from day one. It was billed as a “Norwegian Fjords” cruise but in reality there was only one Fjord experience into Olden with the other three stops relatively low lying shorelines into the ports (Bergen, Stavanger and ...

Not quite what I was expecting

We chose this cruise for the Itinerary. We have done 38 cruises with many different cruise lines but this was our first with P&O. From reading boards before hand I was lead to believe this was a slightly up market cruise, better than celebrity and Princess but more traditional like Cunard. Having been on many of these lines I thought I knew what to expect. Embarkation was good very smooth ...

Disappointing

We are veterans of twenty cruises and this was our first time with P&O, we chose a seven night trip to the Norwegian Fjords leaving from Southampton. Parking was superb, boarding efficient our bags were outside our cabin by the time we got there, room attendant excellent and beyond reproach. The ship itself was just dull, no wow factors at all everything Brown and beige. The shops were ...

Cleanliness and level of service by wait staff and cabin steward was top rate. Disappointed we were not able to have consistent wait staff for evening dining. We were able to book a time in the dining room (just a fluke that we discovered we could do that), but were seated at a different table each evening. Then found out we could request the same table each evening. However, the wait staff ...

Food was extremely disappointing in the dinning room and buffet. Cheap meats and the same food everyday for the majority. Best food was the food in O Sheehan's. Most of the wings were delicious and the soups and other foods provided relief from the poor food served in the buffet and cheap variety of foods in the two dining rooms. Dinner service was mixed with slow service, with others provided ...

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Independence of the Seas

For my wife and I this was our very first cruise. We went to the Norwegian Fjords aboard Independence of the Seas. We booked this cruise as we were told that it was a great trip and the Independence had, according to the Royal Caribbean brochure "been given a makeover from stern to bow". This is not true, parts of the ship may have been changed, BUT our room certainly had not seen any makeover. I ...

We have never sailed the Norwegian Cruise Line before, so this was our first time. Our previous ocean cruises were with the Royal Carribean. The embarkation went smoothly although we did not like the idea of printing our own luggage tags. The cabin was very small, which we expected. What is disappointing is that all the nice places to relax on ship are the places where drinks are ...

We chose this as we'd done the Med to death and knew all the ports inside out but with a tight time window, we jumped onto this ship to see the fjords and try P&O. Whenever we've gone out of Southampton before, it's been pretty slick getting on the Indie but this was from the Mayflower terminal. We turned up at the time we were told to arrive and, just as any doctors waiting room, we had to ...

First of all this was our third cruise this year we had sailed on the Symphony of the seas in May from Barcelona and Ventura in July from Southampton so what you should expect in the way of general service on a cruise ship was still fairly fresh in our minds. We are Latitudes Gold so we have sailed with them a few times prior to this cruise. Because of the previous cruises this year and cost we ...

We booked this cruise last minute as we have never been to Norway. We have two girls age 13 and 9 who were very excited as we have been cruising with Royal Caribbean in the past and they thoughly enjoyed the experience. This was not however the case P&O sell this ship as family friendly it is if you were brought up pre war when children were to be kept in nursery it or play rooms, They was ...
