My husband and I have been on in excess of 20 cruises over the years and often used P & O. for various reasons we drifted away from them as we did not like the bigger boats when they were first introduced and we found ourselves becoming big fans of several other cruise lines. Recently a friend asked us to join them on Iona for a Norwegian fjord cruise during which they had 2 special celebrations, ...
Mega fast embarkation!
We were told that the sail away time would have to be delayed until 2.00am due to adverse weather conditions in Southampton, which seemed odd as it was a great early summer day with a gentle breeze, in the morning the captain announced that due to the late sail start the port stop in Stavanger had to be scrapped.
Olden is a beautiful place to see, the stop at Alesund ...
Booked last minute via Plant Cruises , very helpful gentleman called Derek helped us decide room type / package level.(no Pressure)
Hadn't experienced MSC cruises before so we were a little apprehensive after seeing some of the negative reviews, however many good reviews too.
From parking in the official MSC car park, embarkation and arriving in the Market Place buffet (15 minutes) super ...
5th time with P&O cruises (2nd time on Ventura) and the experience has gone south.
Boarding at Southampton. Due to a delay to us getting onto the ship, we were sat jammed in the terminal for what felt like ages. Zero Covid precautions in place.
Main dining hall. Requested a table for two at the early sitting. We were allocated a mixed table for six at the late dinner sitting. Staff really ...
We has this cruise canceled twice by Covid.
I’m on board. Here are some notes from the Emerald Princess Baha deck on the British Isles Cruise June 14, 2022
Don’t bother ordering Jamison‘s scotch listed on the room service menu - they don’t have it on a trip to Scotland.
And don’t ask for Raisin Bran or special K listed on the room service menu- not available.
The announcements ...
I cannot reiterate how bad this cruise was. There was no communication between crew members and guests. Sat on a tour bus for 30 minutes, at no point was it communicated that we were missing 2 passengers. Rushed through breakfast to get to lounge for out tour. Once again, no statement that everything was running 30-40 minutes late. Told to bring passports to shore, completely false. Could ...
Please see my overall viewpoints regarding this cruise...
Great:
1) Customer Service. Crew was very helpful and sweet. Our cabin was always clean. Easy embarkation and disembarkation. Seemed organized and we enjoyed being 'pampered.'
2) Loved the games! Trivia and organized 'game shows.' The nightly entertainment wasn't too bad-for a mid-sized ship I felt it was good.
3) Excellent ...
The food already is much poorer with worse options for vegans veggies and gluten free folk than the Britannia a few years ago. Portions smaller in the restaurant. Just feels like they are cutting back to catch up after covid.
I hope it improves but noticing little things where they are cutting corners that makes me unlikely to book again on P and O unless I see this improving in other reviews. ...
My friend wanted to cruise to Norway, having travelled on P&O for years we chose Iona. As this is the largest of P&O's ships I expected a spacey cabin but when I opened my cabin door I was shocked and really disappointed, it was so small. The two singles were by the window with just about enough room to squeeze out of bed by the window and there was no way to get out the other side. The ...
We just retuned from a 7 day cruise to the Norwegian Fjords. We very much enjoyed our time on the beautiful new ship. The ship is enormous. It holds 5,000 people with about 3,000 onboard this time. Mostly it did not feel crowded.
The ship is very stylish particularly between the 5 and 7th floor with crystal staircases and changing ceiling display along the main promenade.
We had a drinks ...
