We chose this cruise because it suited where we wanted to go at a time we wanted to go. The ship itself is a nicely laid out ship although a bit tired. Because of the price and the itinerary and a last minute booking. Enjoyed the cruise overall but not happy with the RIP OFF charges for things like shore excursions and shuttle busses plus the drink prices are a total rip off. Liked the Emerald last time. This time very mediocre entertainment, definitely need more outside acts . Too much emphasis on trivia and silly game shows. Cabin was excellent with good service. This has to be the most disappointing cruise I have ever been on. I am a 'Platinum Member' in the Captains Circle and opted for a guarantee cabin. I asked for an Oceanview cabin. We decided to go on the Emerald Princess for our first cruise due to the wonderful destinations it stopped at - Barcelona, Rome, Pisa, Florence, Genoa, Corsica, Marseilles and Gibraltar. This was a family holiday on the Emerald Princess, which suited our required holiday dates. We thought the ship was in good order, clean and tidy - very similar to P&O's Ventura and Azura.
