1-10 of 12 Cunard Queen Mary 2 (QM2) Cruise Reviews for Fitness to Baltic Sea from Southampton
We missed a cruise due to the pandemic so focused on “the future” which finally arrived November 1, 2022. Mister wanted to see the Northern Lights. I wanted to see Norway. Perfect. We booked everything through Cunard, including airport-hotel and (returning) port-airport. This review will also include a subsequent TA Southampton to NY
Vacation got off to an inauspicious start as we arrived at ...
Like being transported to a bygone era - spotlessly uniformed staff await you, glamorous interiors and beautifully presented food, that tasted absolutely delicious.
So what’s NOT to like?
Woefully slow and expensive internet - only accessible in SOME restaurants and bars (the lobby/atrium isn’t good) - def no signal in your cabin. The Cunard ‘my voyage’ app is full of glitches. Pursers ...
Second time on QM2 & first since a supposed re-furbishment.
As always Cunard smugly bang on about their heritage with artefacts & pictures everywhere yet overall the Cunard experience whilst generally very good it's not 'that' special.
Cabin immaculate except that the wooden ornamental balcony railing had come adrift from its metal frame.
As to be expected public areas including lounge & ...
Was on the Iceland Canada crossing. Very smooth but there lacked things to do for anyone under 50. Also had a worrying fire on board one evening over the tannoy telling us it had broken out in the incinerator room. Could smell smoke. Also had a person helicopter lifted off. All quite eventful! Boat was clean and tidy and staff very nice plus the food was great. The buffet was very good ...
First cruise and chose a mini one to see if I would enjoy life on sea. Upgraded to a Princess Suite which was a lovely surprise. Large spacious room with sofa and coffee table. Fridge stocked with non alcholic and alcholic drinks. Large bottle of water $5 and beers $6. So not cheap. Service added on top. Bathroom had Penhaligion's toiletries which was a nice touch. Dressing gowns, slippers, ...
We always felt that this was going to be a pigs ear of a cruise. It started somewhat inauspiciously when we headed through blinding torrential rain along the M27, heading for our usual Dock Gate 4. Suddenly my wife caught a fleeting glimpse of a roadside sign saying Queen Mary 2 was berthed at Dock Gate 8. As I glanced to my right I saw the ship so we made a hasty turn and headed for the ...
We decided on a short cruise to LeHarve/Hamburg on the Queen Mary 2 as precursor to a 9 day cruise on the Queen Victoria in October. we were a tad concerned about dress codes and formality but shouldnt have been as it soon became clear that you could wear just about anything.
Arriving at the Ocean Terminal in a shirt and jacket I soon realised I was overdressed. Fellow travellers seemed to have ...
My partner and I travelled to Norway for the fourth time on Queen Mary 2 in July. Our 3 most recent voyages had been on Queen Elizabeth, which we were coming to view as our preferred ship, but wanted to see what QM2 was like following last year's refit and to test whether any of the changes and 3 years away from the flagship had done anything to alter our minds. In short, this eight day trip did ...
This was our first cruise on Queen Mary 2, or with Cunard for that matter. QM2 is a magnificent ship, with lovely public rooms and spaces. We wanted to see North Cape and experience the midnight sun and while several cruise ships were offering this, we decided on QM2. We had read much about the "class" system and were a little uncertain about it as we have never experienced that with other cruise ...
This ship and itinerary were chosen by my 84 year old Mother in Law, who wanted to go on a family cruise as her first holiday in 10 years, having previously sailed many times on QE2 with her husband.
Embarkation was a breeze, the easiest and quickest we have ever experienced. On arrival at Ocean Terminal in Southampton, you take an escalator up to the Embarkation Lounge, where you are allocated ...
