1-10 of 100 Cunard Queen Mary 2 (QM2) Cruise Reviews for Family Cruises to Europe from Southampton
Total disappointment in the main dinning room Britannia (1) We are a party of six, setting of tables was unreasonably tight between tables. One end of our table was against a wall, waiters had to squeeze themselves to serve, particularly to the guest at the end.
(2) Menu was not appealing, its quality below average standard, most food on the menu remained unchanged throughout the voyage ...
Tried this same cruise last year but bas weather cut the itinerary so decided to try again. Weather this time was sunny in all ports, scenery was spectacular. Yes there was a force 9 gale on the final day but on this ship you would hardly have noticed it. Being a transatlantic liner there was hardly any movement so if you are concerned about sea sickness this is the ship to try. The cabin being an ...
Second time on QM2 & first since a supposed re-furbishment.
As always Cunard smugly bang on about their heritage with artefacts & pictures everywhere yet overall the Cunard experience whilst generally very good it's not 'that' special.
Cabin immaculate except that the wooden ornamental balcony railing had come adrift from its metal frame.
As to be expected public areas including lounge & ...
I’ll keep this short as I find I stop reading if people write to much. In bullet point fashion.
Embarkation: great
Cabin steward: absolutely marvellous and they always are.
Ship: a bit tired looking, could do with new carpets and paint etc.
Staff: reception: awful. If a smile is all your after, that’s all you will get. They really are dreadful.
Waiting staff: at breakfast they ...
As someone who always believed inside cabins were sufficient I was dazzled by my first time in a suite (albeit the smallest suite possible). Still, a walk-in closet on a ship and a bathtub! We really enjoyed our cabin and our roomy balcony, having breakfast on the balcony almost every day. It was also great fun on the balcony waving to all the boats that accompanied us out of Hamburg.
The ...
We cruise with Cunard most years, but found to our shock that it was ten years since we had been on QM2, so we booked this cruise. Basically it was a cruise made up of bits of other voyages, so did not have quite the same feeling as a cruise where almost everyone embarks and disembarks at the same time and place, and was a bit lacking in things like World Club parties. But we expected this and did ...
I stayed in an interior cabin on this recent cruise and found it to be just what I needed for a comfortable bed in the evening. Linens, pillows, comforter - all great. Cabin attendee was warm hearted and helpful with anything needed. Bathroom was starting to show its age, but great shower pressure, size and heat. Spa services were wonderful, took advantage of some of the discounts onboard during ...
I fell in love with the QM2 when I did the transatlantic crossing last October. I booked another transatlantic so wanted another one in between. Because the single cabins had gone then the cost was extra expensive so a short cruise was needed. This visited p places id not been to before as well.
I was on a table of 8 for the 6pm and the writing staff were friendly efficient and very ...
We chose a short 5 night cruise out of SOU to give our friends a taste of cruise life - he has mobility issues and has not travelled for some time - we thought a cruise would be ideal. The whole embarkation process was fantastic and the staff very helpful. That's a positive!
On the negative the ship now has the feel of a rather tired but yet still grand Old Lady. Some areas are in need of a ...
Having been on the QM2 previously in 2013 for a Canaries cruise and realising they had fairly recently Remastered her in 2016, we were keen to get back on board and savour her replenished splendid Character.
CPS took the car as usual and being a rather dreary day its always so nice to just hand over the keys and leave the car in their hands and watch the luggage disappear into the building ...
