We chose this cruise as a toe in the water before booking the transatlantic cruise. It was a complete disappointment, things we didn’t consider or were misinformed about by the Cunard booking line...no planetarium, the iconic afternoon tea, only on the second day despite boarding a 1pm and it was a “bun fight”, first come first served. You have to find your own seats, this encouraged a sharp ...

Having been on the QM2 previously in 2013 for a Canaries cruise and realising they had fairly recently Remastered her in 2016, we were keen to get back on board and savour her replenished splendid Character. CPS took the car as usual and being a rather dreary day its always so nice to just hand over the keys and leave the car in their hands and watch the luggage disappear into the building ...

We decided on a short cruise to LeHarve/Hamburg on the Queen Mary 2 as precursor to a 9 day cruise on the Queen Victoria in October. we were a tad concerned about dress codes and formality but shouldnt have been as it soon became clear that you could wear just about anything. Arriving at the Ocean Terminal in a shirt and jacket I soon realised I was overdressed. Fellow travellers seemed to have ...

Thinking of splurging on Queen Mary 2 Queen’s Grill? Don’t.

The marketing for the Queens Grill makes all sorts of promises of excellence. This includes exclusive butler service that’s helpful, anticipatory, and will elevate your trip. Promotional videos show smiling butlers saying that they love going above and beyond for guests, and even get a kick out of being challenged with special requests. To borrow a very British expression: bullocks! To stay ...

Been on 7 Cunard cruises now and enjoyed them greatly with a couple of minor exceptions. This was our first on QM2 and we were excited as she is Cunard's Flagship. However, we did not feel the on board experience was up to the usual Cunard standard. Good points, the cabin (12001) was lovely, seemed a little larger than same grade on the other ships. General ship interior is very nice, light ...

We were so looking forward to this cruise having heard lots of good stories from other cruise goers. More than disappointed. Easy embarkation at the port, then about 10 staff lining the entrance to welcome us aboard, but once past the welcoming party, there were no staff to direct us to our cabins! Therefore, after the initial 'pomp' there was no actual organisation. We managed to find our ...

I have been on Queen Elizabeth before and loved her very much. My son and his partner decided that they would like to take a short cruise so as I had always wanted to travel on the Queen Mary 2 we decided this would be a good one to try. Our embarkation was quite good as I have disabilities so we had priority boarding. The cabin was good too but we never once saw our cabin steward which is ...

We chose this short 4 day cruise to take the QM2 experience . We live on the Isle of Wight and regularly see the vessel arriving / departing Southampton ,which is only a ferry trip away for us . We have previously cruised on Princess and P and O and so looked forward to la creme de la creme . Firstly the ship us magnificent ,being the only true LINER ,but this leads to compromise . We ...

We have cruised many times before and booked QM2 as a taster cruise for us and two friends as they hadn't cruised before. Car Parking and embarkation fabulous. Overall ship fantastic, new decor and ambience great, However staff all appeared to be rushed and inattentive. New buffet area like a cattle market, unacceptable queuing for afternoon tea. Although stateroom was clean had to ask steward ...

We booked parking recommended by Cunard. We arrived at the ship and within two minutes our baggage and car had been taken, what a great start. Our balcony cabin was incredible and everything was spot on . We received a half bottle of complimentary champagne and we then familiarised ourselves with the ship before the safety briefing. We then went for drinks in the Chart Room and then went to the ...
