For my first ever cruise I wanted it to be an unforgettable experience on what I thought of as a "classic" ship, ie one with a black hull, white decks & red funnels.

1st Cunard experience and sad to say we have B2B booked with them in Aug/Sept 2019, 1st time ever I'm only half hearted about an upcoming cruise !!!!!! I'm sure the locations will cover any Cunard shortcoming.

1. Cruise
Overall the cruise was very good. I loved sleeping on the sea days with my balcony door open. Looking at miles of empty sea and seeing the broken waves slide past was exciting.

Chose this cruise because I wanted to be in Madeira for the firework display and to spend Christmas on board.
Service was very poor, the staff looked tired and everything was an effort.
The food in the Lido buffet was not replenished fast enough, e.g. when one quarter of tomato is sitting alone in the tray it should have been replaced before it got that low.

Because it was over Christmas and New Year and visited Madeira which is a lovely port especially at this time of year.

I am a regular passenger with cunard but i had a real problem with my cabin on this cruise. I was in cabin 6182, an inside cabin. After travelling on the many cruise lines, celebrity x 13 cruises and P O for 12 cruises......Royal Caribbean x 5, Princess, NCL and MSC.....we now prefer Cunard, excellent around except the price of the drinks....
