My partner and I just completed a 7-day voyage on Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth to see the Norwegian fjords.
Basic Details: We made the reservation via Cunard’s website in mid-January 2017 for a 6/24/17 departure from Southampton. We chose a Queens Grill cabin and our package included gratuities and all beverages US$12.00 and under. We purchased the voyage protection insurance, but made our own ...
This was the first ever cruise for both me and my partner. Cunard wasn't our first choice. We had planned to go with Celebrity Cruises on recommendation however there were a few snags with the cruise we were considering and we looked for an alternative which happened to be this cruise with Cunard. Honestly we weren't aware of the Cunard reputation when we booked and we were a little bit daunted ...
First let me state that this was the second of two back to back cruises my friend and I took (the first being to Spain and Portugal.) Truthfully by the end of the second cruise I felt a bit jaded, overfed and kind of done with the famous Cunard formality (Some less kind than I would say pretentiousness.) I'll try to keep the fact that I was ready to go home from excessively coloring this review. ...
To give my wife an experience of a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords was the task to help celebrate our 10th! Frankly the thought of being cooped up with thousands of people did not appeal and we had put off cruising for years. After a lot of research we went for an 'Early Bird' on the QE, choosing an outside cabin, midships on deck 1 to minimise any 'rocking and rolling' as my wife was concerned ...
This was our third cruise - by chance all on Queen Elizaebth - which we have almost come to regard as home at sea. My partner was always interested in going to Norway but I was less keen - so when this combined Norway and Iceland cruise popped-up, we went for it. Everyone I've spoken to who has been to Iceland says it is fascinating and like no-where else on earth.
As previously our check-in ...
This was a fabulous first real experience of Cruising. The ship was a holiday in itself.Loved every minute. Excelent destinations too. The service, food, entertainment and facilities just excellent.
We had DeLuxe Inside 'Stateroom' and it was OK, plenty of space and afterall, you are only going to sleep/relax there. Would have a Balcony if I could afford it.
Be under no illusion QE is money ...
We had been told by everyone we knew who had cruised that Cunard is one of the best lines to travel with!
As this was our first cruise we had done loads of homework about what to expect, everyone had hyped it up so much, we were probably expecting far too much.
I think lots of little irritating things at the start of our experience has marred our overall view of cruising.
We were told, ...
We had driven around the Fjords of Norway in 1972 in a Saab I purchased in Amsterdam and shipped home from Goteborg, Sweden. We have seen the Fjords in New Zealand by air and bus and in Alaska by seas so we decided to go back to Norway to see the fjords by sea. My wife's brother is a big promoter of Cunard and has cruised on the Queen Victoria and the Queen Mary. He wanted to go on Queen ...
This was our second Cunard trip, the first being a transatlantic crossing on QM2 last year. The Queen Elizabeth is a beautiful ship.
We had booked a Princess Grill suite which was very comfortable and gave a lot of advantages such as Princess Grill open dining and a separate grills deck at the top of the ship which gave a great view for sail aways. The service from cabin steward to waiters to ...
I have just returned from a week voyage to the Fjords of Norway on the Queen Elizabeth. To put this review in context, this was my 7th Cunard cruise and my 5th on Queen Elizabeth. I will begin by saying that the QE is still a beautiful ship that is well maintained and very clean; our room steward was efficient and punctual each day and the general ambience of the ship was excellent (despite a few ...
