We chose the cruise mainly for the destinations, which were just what we wanted; the timing was right and we thought we would try a bigger ship than previously. Also, very importantly, it sailed from Southampton. We were upgraded, months earlier for a very small charge, to a mini-suite (of our choice) which we were very pleased with. Oodles of space, a friendly steward who kept it clean. We were also happy with the evening dining (we had traditional in the Botticelli). Some nights we went to the show, other times it was not our scene. The Explorers Lounge was where we wanted to be some nights for the entertainment but it was IMPOSSIBLE sometimes to get a seat. Why oh why do they do this - when other lounges were fairly empty. It does not make sense! The excursions were expensive but we knew that before we booked so we had a choice. On the whole they were good, particularly the one to Florence. One of them though was a let down, I complained and got a partial refund. It was not the ship's fault but I doubt they will use that particular guide again. Horizon Court Buffet is far too busy and very difficult to get a seat. It took the relaxation out of daytime eating. Same with the International Cafe, it looks good and is good, but only ONCE in 14 days could I find a seat. Ridiculous. Not enough seats. Embarkation and Disembarkation were excellent in our opinion. Just wish airports were as efficient. We have booked another line next year but only because we want to try others out and the destinations were key. The downside? This is an American company and boy did we get the hard sell for just about everything they were selling, which was expensive (including drinks). We paid for the cruise, just please now leave us alone to enjoy it! But on the whole an enjoyable experience. Read Less

My wife and I and immediate family went on Cruise 3324 from Southampton in July 13 which was definitely the worst cruise experience we have every had. Firstly may I point out that the Restaurant for dinning was quite acceptable however the rest of the cruise was a comedy of errors. I shall not dwell on what was wrong for too long other than to state the following. Baggage not delivered to room before muster as usual. Toilet became blocked and overflowed into corridor on first day (nice) Balcony state room it was not working for the entire duration of cruise properly even after plumber spent half a day on it ! Complaints not attended to in a timely manner. Complaints made were not acknowledged on board ship. Complaints made to Southampton have still not been resolved since July it is now December . Friend have also been on the Crown Princess and had much the same problems with their state room toilet not working. this was compounded by the fact that she was disabled and was extremely disadvantaged on her cruise. We have just returned from another cruise which was fine (not Princess) We shall not be going with Princess again thankyou   Read Less
