This is the first time we have been on a cruise. Good points are, fabulous staff and cleanliness, nice, basic compact room. we had concierge, which was a waste of money, and good food most of the time.
Bad points are expensive and not too great tours. The one in Portugal was visiting statues to photo then, on the bus to the next statue or monument, with a break to visit Starbucks or ...
Just got back from a 2 week Med cruise on the Celebrity Eclipse, so reluctantly adjusting to making my own bed and meals again etc.
Having read some of the recent reviews I was a bit concerned that standards may have slipped (we last sailed on the Eclipse 2 years ago, having previously cruised with P&O and Royal Caribbean) but, to be honest, we had a fabulous 2 weeks and were thoroughly spoilt. ...
This was the first time we had sailed with Celebrity Cruises and what an experience. This was the 6th cruise in 3 years and it surpassed all the others..
We arrived at Southampton at 11.05 and were on board by 11.30. Never had it so quick. the organisation was speedy, friendly and first class. We are advised at 1.30pm that our stateroom was ready, we were on deck 12 in Concierge class. The only ...
We found this cruise lived up to reviews posted by others.
Main reason for booking was the connecting flights to Southampton and coach shuttle provided. This worked well in both directions - excellent for those based in Scotland. We also utilised again The Baggage Handling Company in Southampton and sent a couple of suitcases in advance, these were waiting on arrival in the cabin. On return they ...
For the second time, my husband and I cruised with Celebrity Cruises. This time to Eastern Mediterranean on the Eclipse. Having boarded at Southampton we found the Eclipse exactly as we expected. Luxurious, spacious, our room with balcony was superb and I cannot fault this ship in any way.
Some things had changed, the Masters Cellars which is still advertised in the brochures, is no longer the ...
Celebrity Eclipse 16 night Med cruise, October 2011
As usual, we travelled down to Southampton the day before our cruise, its 195 miles and takes on average 4.5 to 5 hours, worst trip was 7 hours plus. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Nursling, a few times, so just a short journey to the docks. Since our last visit in May, they had become a recommeded hotel for a local childrens ...
Having just returned from 16 nights on Eclipse I thought I would write a quick review.
We have enjoyed approximately 15 cruises on 4 lines and have been on Eclipse once before- last year when they started in the UK.
The first cruise had it's problems and they didn't get things right to suit the British taste. We were a little disappointed but gave feedback and hoped for the best for ...
Checked in on line, also bank card check in, very quick process no waiting any where, embarkation and disembark very efficient, help by staff waiting for passengers who needed them, for guest alone a welcome sight, for help with wheel chairs also on disembark day there is help,
We were welcomed on board by a very happy crew with a lovely refreshing drink after a long journey to get to ...
We cruise 3-4 times a year, since we are very close to Fort Lauderdale and find cruising such an affordable family vacation and so easy with young children.
We have been on the Solstice twice (last 2 Christmas cruises) so the ship was completely familiar and allowed the children to have complete freedom onboard (they are 8&9). I booked this cruise only a few weeks out, due to an amazing ...
All in all a fabulous cruise - easy embarktion, more than happy with our oceanview cabin and the bathroom was roomy too. You get complimentary waffle dressing gowns and decent toileteries in the bathroom (and also the chocolate on the pillow - some cruise lines have stopped doing this little luxury!). Also tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom and a decent TV.Restaurants - We went to the ...
