Friends asked us to try this sampler as we were new to cruising. Since booking we went to the Caribbean with P and O on Ventura which was a good experience so we had a fair idea what to expect. Firstly, we were all impressed with Britannia as it is a new ship so all the cabins are clean and fresh. As this was such a short trip it was disappointing that we were unable to board until 3pm on Saturday and had to vacate our cabin at 8am on the Monday and leave the ship by 10am, It felt more like a one day trip. We ate mostly in the Oriental restaurant for breakfast and dinner and the food was generally good, but not the standard we had experienced earlier in the year. The service was always hurried and a few waiters bordered being rude saying they were too busy and we would have to wait. Both evenings we were not offered cheese after our meal. Plates were cleared before all our table had finished. Meals were muddled and we did not always get what we ordered. In the bars we experienced the same poor service. I began to wonder if the wet English weather affected the attitude as it was totally different when we were in the Caribbean in February. I would not recommend a short break with P and O. Read Less
