This is our seventh cruise having used thompson, celebrity, Holland America, and princess in the past and the first year we have felt the need to contribute to the reviews on cruise critic.
We were booked onto a 12 night cruise on the Britannia departing from Southampton ocean terminal. The cruise would visit Madeira, La Palma, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Lisbon. We were travelling with two ...
Our First Cruise. Too many people on board, including lots of children, wheelchairs, scooters and walking frames. This made the daytime dining chaos! The evening meals were waiter served. Slow and average.Embarkation slow, disembarkation chaos. The cabin was nice, the entertainment limited and you had to be in the theater at least 30 mins b4 the show to get a seat.
Daytime facilities limited, ...
We were told this was a taster cruise so we thought before we committed to two weeks away we would try it. We queued for over an hour to get on board. Not a good start. No apaology or welcome drink straight unaided to cabin.
Having spent close to £600 for a two night cruise we were not prepared to pay extra to dine in a fancy restaurant. The food in the Peninsula restaurant was at best ...
This was our 2nd cruise having previously been on a Thomson one so our expectations were high. Sadly we were disappointed. I will try to keep it simple with pros and cons.
PROS
Food was very good in all restaurants including the buffet.
Sindu was the best place to eat.
Cabin was adequate and very clean.
Ship decor was lovely and all areas clean.
Staff were very pleasant and ...
After 20 cruises with various companies including P&O this was our most disappointing we had a balcony cabin (the shelf the two chairs and table provided could not be used together.) on the plus side the cabin though smaller than some was spotless and the cabin steward was brilliant. The food in the self service restaurant was hit and miss sometimes cold and dry other days very good, we gave up ...
how disappointed we were with P&O Britannia!! no wow factor, poor repetitive food, tiny cabins when using the bathroom it felt as though you were using a portaloo and that's no exaggeration we were in a balcony cabin but it felt like a small box. the worst thing for us though were the staff, they were untrained and lacking in even a smile. they walked about as though they were bored stiff and ...
We booked this cruise as a last minute getaway with the intention of not getting off and spending the day in the spa and eating. P&O wouldn't normally be my first choice of cruise line and after the cruise, I would actually have to say never again.
The ship itself appears to be nice but upon closer inspection, a lot of the materials used felt cheap, as a result the ship, which is only 18 ...
we decided to go on the britannia after enjoying our cruise of the azura which is the smaller ship. The crew were nice and the facilities good. We were excited to cruise on this ship and was told how good it was when being driven to the port.
embarkation was easy and swift and room was ready quickly for when we entered.
cabin was a balcony, the rooms were classically decorated and fairly ...
Prepare to be disappointed and underwhelmed! This is our fifth cruise with P&O. We will never sail on Britannia again and certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
On our first night we experienced an inconsistent very loud banging from an area around the bathroom area within our cabin. Having had no sleep, at 03:30am we called down to reception and a member of staff came to inspect and ...
Not enough lifts. In the space of a week myself, husband and father who is in a wheelchair spent about 4 hours of our holiday waiting for lifts. There were not enough of them and only 2 sets of stairs, one at one end of the ship one at the other. Everyone was using them and no-one ever made room for us to get in when doors opened. Wait for the next lift, SAME AGAIN.
Food in the restaurant was ...
