Love this ship and have cruised on her pre Covid. Have also travelled twice on Iona post Covid.
There are several things all these cruises have in common, the reasons given are the Covid effect, which no longer makes any sense.
The staff are still wonderful, albeit none of them looked particularly happy, possibly due to many of them having been seconded from a previously cancelled cruise on ...
We had never done transatlantic, wanted to do the Caribbean and thought a ship using sterling would be easier. Travelling with a friend, 1 late 60s, 1 early 70s. We had only done Australia and the Pacific Islands before. We booked just before covid started, but we had booked for this date. We booked a suite to treat ourselves, butler and all. He is wonderful by the way. Dining - Horizon is ...
Having had to cancel our 40 th anniversary plans twice, my wife got us booked on Brittania again! We've sailed on her 2 yrs ago in the Caribbean. Overall impression back then good but to big for us!
This cruise? Still to big but what a difference in quality ( read lack of) in no particular order! Entertainment pretty good overall but why did the sound have to so loud it distorted the music? ...
This wasn’t our first cruise so we had a rough idea of what to expect and how things should work.
Having driven for about 4 hours we arrived at our allotted time only to be told we had to drive elsewhere, off site, to be covid tested, why weren’t we informed about this earlier? On arrival we were told the testing reporting system had crashed and we would have to wait, which we did for about 40 ...
We have holidayed on P&O cruises at least once a year, sometimes twice, since 2009 so we were delighted that after the enforced Covid break we were at last able to sail again on board a staycation cruise. Sadly however we were somewhat disillusioned with the experiences we had on our return to sailing with P&O.
It should be said that we expected things to be different and that there would be ...
We embarked at Southampton and this was quite smooth and uneventful but when we were issued our cruise cards we noticed our dining arrangements had been changed to a table of 8 ? I asked and the attendant said you’ll have to modify it on the ship,
On the ship we made this our first order of business when we went to the restaurant to check our table we were told we cannot adjust this you should ...
We chose this cruise because it was perfect for a much needed break. We had previously sailed with many other cruise liners and felt that we always referred back to Ventura and Azura. Service had always been commendable however, Britannia did not seem to uphold this. Waiters were hard to get hold of for refilling your water glass and after having waited 20 mins with empty coffee cups, we ended up ...
We chose the cruise due to celebrating my mother's 80th Birthday, she had not cruised before so we wanted a short cruise just in case! We have been on many P&O cruises before but not Britannia. The one problem with the ship was the lifts!! They are a lot smaller than the other ships and therefore if a wheel chair is in the lift this does not leave much room. My mother needed to use the lift due ...
As it was our first cruise and we always wanted to visit the Fjords, we chose P&O as it gave us everything we required.
Embarkation was straightforward and well organised and we were on the ship 30 minutes after arriving at Southampton. The ship looked fantastic and we were impressed by the cabin that was clean and well maintained.
The buffet restaurant was a real disappointment. I read a ...
