Chose this cruise as it was a re-positioning trip and gave us a chance to re-visit the Caribbean.
It was out first time on Azura and it was a great ship, but was marred by the smoking policy. Smokers were allowed on the Promenade deck, albeit in a small area, but if you were out walking or jogging, you had to run the gauntlet of smokers puffing away.
Similarly, they were allowed to smoke on ...
Chose the cruise because we wanted to go to some of the Caribbean island we had not previously visited and because we had had a relaxing cruise on Ventura last year. We knew early on that we obviously could not go to St Maarten. Storm Brian delayed us by a day and cutting long story short we had 3 days in the Caribbean - 2 of them on islands we know well. No time in Barbados. No concessions of any ...
We are experienced P&O cruisers and this is our 3rd time on Azura.
No problems with embarkation or disembarkation from Ocean Terminal.
Azura did not disappoint us. she is getting a little tired but levels of cleanliness and service were excellent.
Just an observation - we were given an upgrade - yippee!!!!
We were moved to a better grade sure, however, we were moved to Riviera Deck, ...
This was my first P&O cruise chosen by the friend whose special birthday we were to celebrate.
P&O were nice enough to upgrade the two of us and both the super deluxe and balcony cabins were a fair enough size but oh so beige and plastic. Quiet though and well positioned should we have had rough seas but one of the upsides of this cruise was the calmest of waters I have ever ...
Firstly we arrived at the port at 2-15pm and the embarkation process was smooth and we were on the ship by 3pm and were able to go straight to our cabin and our luggage arrived soon after.
The room had been set up as requested by our friendly Cabin Steward Clifford. There is a hairdryer in the cupboard and two pool towels in the bathroom with shower gel, Conditioner and shampoo. My only ...
While not expecting much in the destinations i.e. Amsterdam and Le Havre we got an exceptionally good value deal in deluxe balcony cabin and wanted to see the Azura as other cruisers we have met in the last few years have given it great reviews. They were correct as she is spacious and public areas well planned and very comfortable.Meals were always of high standard and to the British taste ,the ...
We just arrived home from a 5 night cruise from Southampton due to call at Amsterdam and Le Havre.
We did not end up docking in port at Le Havre, due to a local protest. Which is fair enough, although strikes at this port in particular are an ongoing issue, and the unions do post a schedule of strikes arranged. So in all honesty I am not sure why they even attempted to dock.
Aside from the ...
We chose this cruise for our 50th Anniversary, we've been on the Azura before & enjoyed ourselves.
Our cabin was lovely, food & entertainment fantastic,
The Entertainments Team lead by Benne worked so hard, so much energy.
The Sail Aways were exciting & got people into the swing of things.
Staff all very helpful & understanding.
Great choice of food in the Buffet, so much.
Varied ...
We decided on this cruise for the ports of call, and it was great choice. September can be dodgy with the sun/rain, but this was sunshine all the way, with temperatures around the mid 20's. This was our first time on Azura but we have been on the sister ship Ventura, but we did find Azura a more happy place - not sure why but it might have something to do with the Captain - a great bloke. Yes if ...
My wife is a seasoned cruiser, having been a top act on Cunard in the 1970s and 1980s.I've been cruising for about 14 years ,having tried quite a few of the cruise lines.
Our friends ( who came along with us) are also regular seasoned cruisers.
Although , of course, the four of us have different tastes in food, wine, entertainment etc we are agreed that the P&O Azura was the worst cruise ...
