"The ship was unable to stay in Amsterdam for a second day or dock in Zebruggge on the last day due to bad weather, so we had 2 extra days at sea with nothing to do but read or try to watch films on our tablets. There was very little to do on sea days apart from a few quizzes...."Read More

1-10 of 50 P&O Arcadia Cruise Reviews for Senior to Europe - British Isles & Western from Southampton
We have cruised with p.o very many times and i have to say that we have always had a very enjoyable time, our last cruise was in 2019 we did have three cruises booked after covid but p.o but they were cancelled as we had never been away for a chrismas and new year cruise we transferred one of our outstanding booking to arcadia. Boarding was very quick and easy, after our loyalty lunch we went to ...
I flew from Houston to London and arrived the day before the cruise. I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Heathrow and would highly recommend it. This was my first time on P&O Cruises. It mainly caters to British cruisers and many of the passengers I met have only cruised P&O. Their website states that their Elegant Nights are very formal. Many of the men wore tuxes, but some wore a jacket ...
Lovely ports of call. Good service. Some staff appeared to be very overworked.
On the whole good entertainment. Excellent speakers. Headliners could have been better especially the dancers.
Had to ask cabin steward for bed changes. Washing machines, coffee machines, toilets all out of order. Buckets in corridor to collect water when it rained. Corrosion evident on many decks. Ship just ...
Chose Arcadia for a number of reasons - been on before, adults only + Fjords for 1st time.
Few positives but many negatives.
Positives ...
We were in a balcony on Sun Deck which, according to deck plan, had a solid wall going aft and nothing above us. Wrong! The wall had 2 fire exit doors which were latchable from the inside and Sun beds above us that were usually laid out @ 7:17am on a ...
I have cruised with P&O several times in the past and have always recommended them above the likes of Royal Caribbean because the service has traditionally been so much better. Not this time. It may well have been that particular ship, the Arcadia, but had that of been my first cruise with P&O I would be in no hurry to go back.
There was sickness on board (Norovirus) that was very badly ...
We are veteran cruisers and first sailed on P&O Arcadia in her maiden year of 2005. This was our fifth cruise on her. Oh dear: I really hate to be the one to say it, but P&O are a shadow of their former selves. Their standards have not so much dropped as plummeted. While the positives, on the whole, outweighed the negatives, we did find a couple of issues to be more than a little ...
Having never been away for Xmas we, and another couple, booked this 10 day cruise on a ship we have travelled the World on. Never again. From leaks on every deck, toilets that didn’t work, cutbacks in every department and missing 2nd day in Amsterdam and not calling into Zeebruge….it was awful. 24/10 piped Xmas music on a loop so loud you couldn’t hear yourself speak in some place. Pitiful ...
The Arcadia is an old ship and it is starting to show. Leaky roofs and blocked toilets, stained carpets and scuffed creaky lifts. We found this Christmas cruise very underwhelming and thought there would be more activities and guest speakers. Our balcony cabin was kept reasonably clean by the steward, but I have had better standards on other lines. The food in the main dining room was monotonous. ...
O.K. so if you opt for a cruise to Northern Norway at the end of November you've got to expect that the weather might be problematic and it was! This was not a great cruise experience and unfortunately this was not entirely due to the various storms and gales that we sailed through.
To warn future searchers for the Northern Lights you should research the itinerary carefully. Technically we were ...
We chose this cruise as there were three ports of call new to ourselves.
Lido Deck Too large a comfortable seating area earmarked for smokers, particularly when public areas (on land) are discouraging the habit.
Dining Surprisingly, choice of all three courses at dinner required when ordering. One does not always know whether one might even wish for a third course after the ...
