Beautiful ship, but shame about the extra costs and bar service

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

We chose MSC as had friends sail on their ships before. We booked at a great price, as we were travelling as a family of 4, so tried to keep our costs down. The ship is stunning and customer service was extremely impressive, EXCEPT for the bars. Each bar seemed massively understaffed (one even ran out of glasses), and ignored you unless you were sitting right in front of them. We didn’t purchase a ...

I booked this cruise almost 12 months in advance for myself and wife also a cabin for my daughter and her partner. I had a senior moment when booking and used my daughters ex partners surname on the booking. The christian name was correct and also the DOB. I called to change the surname when I realised some two weeks later. We are still talking some 11 months from sail date and got charged £50 ...

So much better than the reviews suggest

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

This was actually my third trip on the MSC Virtuosa. The first was a round UK one during covid and was a strange, too quiet experience with skeleton staff. Next was a short cruise with my 17 year old grand daughter last year- much more fun, but the service at bars etc was really poor and slow. but this cruise offer of a 15 night all inclusive with a balcony, visiting France, Spain and Morocco, for ...

Loved the ship , staff were excellent , shows to an exceptional standard, with good variety . Very clean everywhere , lots going on if you want it . Had a fab holiday and would recommend . We couldn’t get a balcony cabin and had an inside one, it was spacious but didn’t like not having daylight . Wardrobes are small and no drawers except two small in the wardrobe itself. Bed very ...

This was our 3rd cruise with MSC. In the past this was not a cruise line we would have sailed with but when cruising resumed in 2021 this line embarked passengers in Greenock so we took the opportunity to sail on Virtuosa. Truthfully, last year we were not impressed not the fault of MSC more the passenger demographic however it wasn't a typical cruise so we decided to give MSC another chance and ...

rewards for oceans members appalling compared to previously: no fred olsen pens [surely this is a free advert when cruisers leave them around or lend them , miserable selection snacks as only reward for diamond oceans members [one between two!!]. guest entertainers very poor. tap dancers may be talented but who want to have to endure two shows of them. comedian OK but other musicians no one wants ...

A little short of great

We chose this cruise for a chance to try Oceania, who has a great reputation, especially for foodies. We had cruised on Celebrity several times, a mainstream line known for good dining, and Princess to Alaska. Oceania seems to really have honed in on their target audience, with many travelers we met haven taken 10+ cruises with the line and some even 20+ (and many Oceania cruises are more than ...

Review for a Africa Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

ON the face of it not a lot seemed to have changed on the Queen Elizabeth since we last sailed on her seven years ago…and vowed never to do so again after the ship’s truly unforgettable inaugural voyage to the Caribbean. Roy Walker, star of the “Comedians” and “Catchphrase,” was still the biggest name performing in the Royal Court Theatre at night, a retired law enforcement officer was giving ...

Think again Cunard. You are not as good as you like to think.

Review for a Africa Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

I rated the cruise good because it took us where we wanted to go; the ship itself is good; the public areas, including the pool areas not at all crowded; the restaurants and staff were good and friendly BUT all this is let down by the most abysmal administration and organisation. From first boarding nothing that required any kind of intelligent organisation was done well. Some examples ...

Wanted a longer cruise outside the school holiday. Never been to the Canaries before. The ship was Beaty with a lot of decoration and art. Clean and good taken care of. Our incide cabin had everything we needed and a lot of places to store our things, perfectly located on deck nine between the two lifts. Our stateroom attendant Ida did a Great job and kept it clean and was so nice to us all the ...
